Pathologist expects to finish before 4:30, not at 4:30. Refused to see me despite arriving 5 minutes before closing as had an electronic referral not a hard copy. Explained Id been waiting 2h for my doctor to email through the referral, and only received it whilst literally sitting in my car refreshing my emails like a mad woman immediately before walking in. Explained how urgent it was to get the swab as condition was treatment resistant, causing extreme discomfort, and Dr unable to prescribe anything further until received results from culture, and I leave for a holiday on Friday. She still said no, come back with printed letter. Called another clinic in the car who closed 30 minutes later nearby who said that I could of course come in and they would print the referral for me. I subsequently went back in to express how ridiculous it was to turn someone away before closing for not having a hard copy referral despite having a printer at the reception desk, given how common e-referrals and scripts are with telehealth post-COVID. I got aggressively barked at, by whom I presume was a doctor or practice manager with a God complex, at the attached medical clinic because the reception team supposedly has no connection to the pathology clinic. Interesting, since the medical clinic lists pathology as one of their services on their website. Anyway, Id rather saw my own arm off than ever interact with one of the team at Bundoora Specialist Healthcare Clinic or Australian Clinical Labs. Thankfully Dorevitch down the road were competent enough to print a referral letter from a forwarded email.
