My daughter did the summer school program (9yrs), she had the best 4 days of her life. It has inspired her to continue dancing, becuase she was also able to see what she is capable of by watching the seniors performance.

I took my 6 year old daughter to see The Nutcracker at Parramatta Riverside Theatre a couple of weeks ago. The lead dancers were wonderful. The pas de deux between the Nutcracker and Clara were sweetly tender, danced with skilled finesse and charm. However the Snow Queen seemed lack ballon and while a skilled dancer she appeared to struggle to get off the ground at times, using her shoulders to achieve lift. The SugarPlum pas de deux had some hair raising moments, especially in the fish dives where I was genuinely afraid the ballerina would hit the ground. Overall, while there was some lovely dancing in general the production lacked verve and sparkle.

Just saw Anastasia in Brisbane. It was an amazing show. The lead dancers were stunning with a fabulous company. I cant recommend the Victorian Ballet Company enough. Having seen other ballet companies, this show had a great score with energetic choreography. All the the dancers were very highly skilled. If you want a good night out, I recommend these wonderful performers.

Just saw Anastasia in Brisbane and it was disappointingly terrible. There was one woman and one man who seemed to be experienced, professional dancers. The others were astonishingly untalented. This was the first ballet my boyfriend has ever seen (a deeply regrettable fact), and he asked me afterwards: "Do other ballets dance in sync?". That's what you can expect from this company folks. I wish there were a silver lining - be it the costumes or music or choreography or originality - but this really felt like a highschool production all around :(
