4 Independent Builders refuted their insurance assessment and the claim will be paid out. They are a phoenix company who continues to be paid commissions from banks to reject claims that are fully legitimate. Assessor who came out told me before he walked in the door he has enough experience to know that he the claim would get rejected before viewing the damage.

Used by CBA, terrible quote. Overquoted for stupid things that didn't need doing (window pane was broken, quoting a grand to paint the outside of the frame when it wasn't painted to begin with...) and the roof. Spent 1k and got things fixed they were quoting 3k for. However, underestimating for the important item, the fence. Neighbours insurance covered the full wire fence whereas gracedale telling CBA no, only 20m needs to be fixed. It's now a full blown dispute. Why are they quoting high amounts for the minor fixes that I got done quickly myself by local companies, then underestimating for the fence? (not under quoting, they quoted massively for the small portion they agreed to fix, ludicrous amount)

One of the many services Gracedale Constructions offers is providing unbiased information to the insurance industry. This we are professionally, ethically & legally obligated to truthfully provide. The outcome of any claim is ultimately at the discretion of the Insurer, which we fully accept and respect. Concerning the previous comments, it does not take a professional building company to decide a wall, built 100 years ago, in questionable shape and non-compliant was past its use by date. In these circumstance if a claim is accepted, simple gratitude to the insurer is the appropriate response.
