At 370 m tall, Mount Arapiles is quite a compact one, packing in a lot of features. It is still standing, while the 420 million year old contemporaries eroded away, thanks to volcanic activity that cemented the sandstone and conglomerate with silica. This durable quartzite has quite unique erosion patterns that anyone can see, touch and walk on. Climbers love it and they found thousands of ways to get up or down the cliffs. There is sealed road to the summit and other lookouts and caves you can look at; walks as short or as long as you want them and great variety of flora and wildlife. This place is unique, easy to access, safe to explore (within reason) and easy to take good photos of. We will be back.

Beautiful place. Good campgrounds. Great walking tracks. Poor sinage. Tracks on pamphlets don't match signs in park.
