This is a great tribute to Peter Norman, a 1968 Olympic silver medalist sprinter. As well as his athletic achievement, he is remembered for his brave stand in solidarity on the podium with African-American athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos of the USA as they gave the Black Power salute. It's one of history's most enduring sporting moments. The beautiful bronze statue immortalizes Norman and is a fitting tribute to his legacy as an athlete and advocate for human rights.

Such a brave man who gave up so much to support his fellow athletes in this protest versus inequality
