Prices on the tiles were reduced and we were happy with that. Thats where it ended. We engaged the salesman Chris to give us a quote to lay the tiles after hed sold us the tiles, as hed indicated he was a tiler. He visited our home and quoted a price of $2,800 to do the job. On the spot we accepted that quote and looked forward to having the work completed. One excuse after another followed and it was us who had to constantly drive communication as to when he was commencing the job. Before Christmas, then the period after Christmas and before January 10 were all times given to us as to commencement. After no contact on Thursday 13th January I received a call from an unknown person asking me were we ready to start the tiling job. Not being aware of who this person was I asked and he identified himself as Chriss brother, who Id never met and had never been mentioned in conversations with the ever reliable Chris. This person told me hed been given the job by Chris, with no explanation as to why Chris was unavailable, and certainly no communication from Chris. This person then informs me hed do the job at Chriss quote of $3,600.00. I replied that wasnt the quote and informed him of the figure, and also add I wasnt particularly happy about the job being given to someone else without the courtesy of a call from Chris to explain the situation. After a call from the new person to Chris he calls back to tell me it was $3,600.00 and Chris confirmed with him the price. He was told we would not be engaging him as that was $800.00 more than the original quote. I proceeded to SMS Chris only to be told a barrage of lies about his quote and still not one reason as to why he had given the job away without contacting us. Very unprofessional. After several text exchanges he could not provide any evidence to suggest the quote was $3600.00 as he told us he ALWAYS provides a formal quote. This never happened and his quote was worked out on his mobile phone when he attended our home. The end result, the job has not been started and we still have the tiles sitting while we look for another person. I submitted an email to Johnson tiles via the website to indicate all that happened and to let them know how this person had behaved. Even though I understand this was an external arrangement with him, we basically purchased the tiles on the basis he would lay them. From the moment they had been paid for this has been an experience to forget . Ive had no reply from Johnsons, but I thought Id let them know that if their staff are going to offer their professional services externally, they should back it up with the same service Johnsons expect when they are working in store. The no reply isnt surprising. Chris has proven to be most unreliable in areas of providing his service, lack of communication and honouring a quote. We wont be back regardless of pricing of their product.

We had a great experience sourcing tiles for a large job, after shopping around. Chris gave us professional service and the benefit of his trade knowledge in choosing for each application. They also let us have a sample to take home, so we could check everything before buying. Great value prices, as well. Highly recommend.

Such a pleasure to walk into this store and find great staff and great tiles. If your looking for a bargain then they have reduced stock. Really affordable tiles in all shapes and sizes.
