I purchased a black felted rose kimono online, which I wanted lined with black material to hide the horribly noticeable white material and stitching. I took it into Filomenas with some black cotton lining that I bought from Spotlight, which I wanted to line the inside. She suggested I purchase a stretchier material and more of it, which was fine. I returned to Spotlight and got the correct material and more than enough of it for the alteration to be done. She was happy. I was quoted the item would be completed by November to early December (approx 2 months), due to the influx of formals at that time. That was not an issue, but I had an event I wanted to wear the item by late January. January 2023 came and Id heard nothing, so I called Filomenas and it hadnt been completed, it was their busy season. I get it, but I was quoted November/December. She said shed have it done in approx 2 weeks, cool not a problem. I picked the item up in two weeks and when I got home the arms hadnt been lined all the way, it just had free flowing black lining, which theyd cut it way too short anyway . All the original white inner lining was still incredibly obvious. I returned the item for correction, told her I wanted the black lining to line all the way to the end of the arms and secured, so no white was showing. Because they had cut the material too short inside the arms, an extra piece of black lining was required to be sewn so that it could reach the tips of the arms, and there was still PLENTY of black lining material!!! I was told no more than two weeks for correction. Three weeks to a month later Id heard nothing, so I contacted Filomenas and shed said it had been done. My mum picked up my item and said it wasnt right. Instead of using extra material to line inside the arms (where theyd cut it ridiculously too short) theyd just stretched the black lining to reach the tips of the arms. So now, the arms scrunch and it ruins the way which the arms should rest. I was told to bring the item back in for fixing, but to be honest Im too worried that they will ruin the item completely. The kimono was not amazing quality but it was expensive and so beautiful and I adore it. I paid $130 to have the correction done, by so called professionals. I wish I listened during my home economics class in high school!!!!! Poor job. Poor communication. Disappointing. Just to add to the review, a few weeks later. Ive had a family friend visit who is a seamstress. She looked at my item and said the material they suggested I buy was incorrect and the original one I took it was the correct one. She also found the base of the black lining was not sewn into the garment, it was just free flowing, AGAIN. The length of the free flowing lining was way past that of the kimono, so it was noticeable at my ankles . There were several other things she found wrong with it as well. Our friend suggested we pick apart the lining, so thankfully my item is salvageable! So thank you Filomenas for doing such a bad job of my clothing so I can actually save it, because they dont sell it anymore. No, I am not returning. Keep the $130 dollars and put your staff through sewing classes
