If you want to waste your time then make appointment with him! This is the story might happen for you as has happened not just one time and not just for one patient! Just imagine that you made an appointment 2 months in advance, you have arranged your leave work and your partner as well, you are suffering of pain and you are on the way to Dr office. Then you will receive a call just half an hour before your appointment while you are on the way, his secretary says: Dr. is not well today and can't come to his office, sorry for that and I am happy to make an appointment for the next day morning! she mentioned that he is just available 2 days a week and just in the morning! (without concerning about the patient's time wasting and taking care of this specific situation) How painful it is when you get in the Mahinda's office and you see the other patients are also coming to the office and are angry with this behavior, one was claiming that it is not the first time that he cancels the appointments! In this situation, normally Dr needs to arrange somebody(his colleague) to cover his absence as it is too late to cancel the appointments in the day of visiting otherwise he needs to find an appropriate time that suits the patients as well and not only suits the Dr, as it is not easy to get leave work again and again for nothing! But unfortunately, the secretary even was not kind and patient enough to listen and sympathize with unhappy patients which is not only suffering from sickness but also suffering from this irresponsibility. It obviously shows this Dr Silva is an irresponsible person who does not care of his patients and is not dedicated to his commitments at all. It is understandable sometimes there is an urgent issue but it is Drs responsibility to find an appropriate solution to cover his absence or find a time which also suites his patients as a compensation rather than just be unavailable in the appointment date and asking secretary to refer the patients to come in another date which just is ok for him or asking us to see GP again and take referral letter for another specialist and so on! All in all, it was very disappointing service as well as unprofessional office staff. At least I was lucky to realize this things about this practice before visiting Dr Silva,wasting money and time, so now I go for another specialist.
