After recently retiring I needed financial advice and planing for my future, I researched financial planers and found Luke from My Financial Design in my area. After listening to the 'She's on the money' podcast I was inspired to put some life, TPD, trauma and income protection insurance in place outside of super. In the past, I have dealt with financial advisors, both male and female, who only made me more anxious about my future. Then I would avoid further interactions and just keep plodding along on my own. Luke at My Financial Design on the other hand has been a totally different experience. There was no pressure and we took things at my own pace. He gave me options, with clear, assuring guidance and I now understand how my retirement money is working for me and I look forward to a comfortable future. Recently my partner and I approached Luke to review our life insurance to ensure we had the appropriate level of cover. Luke made the whole process really easy by setting up regular zoom calls and explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand, sorting through all of the technical jargon associated with insurance companies. Prior to meeting with Luke, we felt lost with how to deal with our money. We are fairly young and we knew we wanted to invest however we didnt know how, or how much to invest. We had money however we knew we werent spending it smartly. We had no idea about life insurance, superannuation, wills etc. but knew we should probably sort that all out. We were very nervous to meet with someone we didnt know about such an important and what we thought was a scary/serious matter. Luke put us at ease with his friendly and thorough approach. He explained everything carefully and answered all of our questions very knowledgeably. We felt very comfortable with Luke handling our finances and he made us feel like we were his only clients.
