Our late Mother was found injured in the car park garden in the rain late at night at Easter, 2 years ago today, having exited via a staff door. We have never received a report or apology from Tricare, as promised. Our Mother was not a wanderer, never left the facility alone, lived on the second floor, was slow on her feet and had sensors on her bed and chair. The managers showed the utmost disrespect to our family. In the absence of followup by management we contacted the Tri Care director Peter O'Shea, who took no interest. He was also not interested in ideas about best practice in aged care. Our walks during lockdown were recinded 2 days after we complained to the commission about this incident. Other families, in a similar situation, continued to be given visitation rights. Sadly, the toothless commission still chose to accredit them and placed no sanction on this facility, despite the fact it was never reported under the government's Serious Incident Reporting Scheme. Aged Care auditing needs a serious overhaul. Fatty sausages with gravy served for Sunday lunch when lamb roast on menu; boring lifestyle programme; inadequate and poorly trained staff; inaccurate care plans; no toileting schedule.... our elderly and their families deserve much better. Given the hefty accommodation bond, daily fees and government subsidies, it is clear that these homes put profits above care. The extra service fee is a total rout- apparently never audited. Do not bother to send your insincere response tricare. Readers please know, my sister and I are health and education professionals and speak the truth.

My parents initially went into TriCare Kawana Waters for respite, however they were so happy and well cared for they decided to stay permanently. They are in the original section and although its an older building compared to the new section it is more homely and all the staff are wonderful and truly dedicated to the residents care. My parents feel very safe, well supported and included. The admin and staff go out of their way to ensure the residents and their families have peace of mind With the transition of entering a nursing home and with continued care.

It's has 2 levels of accomodation both more than ok. Meals are good and care more than adequate.

Would have rated this establishment 4 stars when our mother was self caring. 2 stars now her needs are increasing due to lack of staff. Poor value for a RAD$550,000 & monthly fee of approx.$3,000
