    Mixed bag. I've only rented twice, first time for a 300mm post hole digger, the machine was awesome, full rental process almost OK. Second time, a large whacker packer. I phoned the Friday before to enquire and book the item, pickup time of my choice (meaning there would be one there upon arrival that Monday), however, no. Apparently the item was not returned, and I could either wait (they phoned the current renter, message left) or hire a smaller unit. Given the 45 minute drive from Montville to their premise, I was not happy and didn't want to waste the drive, so rented the smaller unit. It sort of worked, but given the weight of the machine, I would have preferred the heavier larger unit to compact the roadbase. Regarding the rental process, mechanically, it seems everything is in order, machines checked and serviced, and loaded/unloaded for you, however, the administration side of the business is where the wheels fall off the cart. When I initially rented the post hole digger, the guy had to process the whole rental, and struggled with the computer system, finally completing the task at hand after an elongated timeframe and blokey whining. The second rental process, again, the staff were not aware of each other's movements and actions, always questioning if what you asked was correct, as they didn't know until they check the log book only to confirm your statement then. I'm not sure if I'd rent from there again, the business just seems wishy-washy. I wish I could charge them the time used in regards to my time and my fuel consumed in an almost wasted effort. UPDATE I returned the machine that morning, and have answers to my in person customer service experience and review response by the business; 1. Yes, the rental cost was fully refunded, given the inconvenience and limited time I had the machine for, thank you. 2. I declined the cross hire, as I have a disabled partner, and arriving at 0630am (which was happily accepted during my initial phone booking) was the only timeframe that I could work into her physical care, both prior to arriving, and after arriving back home, otherwise, I would have accepted alternate outcomes. 3. As mentioned in my review, the administration side of the business seemed to be a '52 pickup' of sorts, the lady behind the counter struggled to locate my hire agreement, and speaking briefly with an older gentleman in the returns area, he was quite quick to fob my business off elsewhere when I mentioned the unit was inadequate for the task at hand, and overall, theb2 staff members I liaised with seemed upset with my Google Review. These reviews are designed as feedback, constructive suggestions not to be taken as a personal attack towards yourself. Am I wrong with what I witnessed at your premise? Given time, I may return to see if the business has taken heed and made improvements. Thank You

    I use Kawana Hire for any equipment I need for d.i.y. Yes, they can at times seem as though the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, but it all works out if you just have a little patience. They're genuine, down-to-earth people who to me seem to care about what they do.
