La Pizzaiola

I don't often re-review places, but after the experience of last night I won't return to La Pizzaiolia. La Pizzaiolia offers delicious Italian cuisine, but the dining experience is marred by abysmal service. Time to change the attitude or step away from the hospitality industry.

Ran into an issue with too many people (3kids who were seated on laps quietly) in our group booking, this was brought to their attention on arrival as we had asked about another table. We were seated anyway and had ordered drinks and food, been there for about 40 minutes when we were suddenly confronted by a lady who outed us in front of the full restaurant. Instead of quietly discussing the situation with us to come to a solution, it was loud and abrupt so we felt the only option we had was to get up and go elsewhere for dinner, which is what we did. I understand the booking error was on us but the situation was not handled professionally. Disappointing as the food is always really good, service not so much.

Arrived around 7:45 and the temperature in house was sweltering and humid, immediately felt light headed and sick but wanted to stick it out to have a good pizza and wine. They took our order quickly but we had to request glasses for our table water and after waiting for 30 minutes went up and asked where our food was and was told it would be 2-3 minutes. After waiting another 30 minutes we went back up and asked again for our food and was told the same thing. After an hour and ten minutes we finally got our food only to be disappointed with the dryness of the chicken and burnt pizza on both of our pizzas. Went up to the teller and were charged 100 for 2 pizzas and wine which was the standard price but were only offered a $10 discount and were disregarded as important after we expressed our grievances. Very upsetting considering we knew the potential of the restaurant as we went 9 months ago and had a good time. Very big dip in service and the food quality and price was far below average.

Very disappointed. Food was bland and over cooked, couldn't serve partner anything because he is allergic to onion and they didn't have any substations, my lasagne was just a bowl of sauce with next to no meat in it. Would not recommend we'll definitely not be going back.
