Taringa 7 Day Medical Practice

This practice has been operating for decades and I've have been attending for decades. It's quite solid and walk-ins can be accommodated and they have long operating hours. Expect to wait a really long time however even if you scheduled an appointment; that's just the way it is here and I expect that. They don't bulk bill, but the doctors here are good for the most part; the most important thing to do is see another doctor if you don't gel with one of the GPs. There are so many to choose from so don't despair or write off the practice if you have a bad experience. I come back despite having being told by one of the GPs that my pain symptoms were in my head and told to see a psychologist. I went back and got a proper referral from a different GP. Dr Sithara Bogoda is my GP now and she is fantastic in my opinion. I recommend her.

Ive always had a great experience here and the reception staff are lovely. I dont know what all the negative comments are about, because everyone here is great. recommend!

Some of the GPS are good and generally they can usually fit you in. Our GP helped to identify an issue with my gut with a simple blood test. However during the holidays we were given a different GP and she was not experienced w asthma and this was really not helpful during Covid. The staff (our fav is Anne) are always friendly and very professional. I can always get an appointment with our GP and the nurses are brilliant (helped us with a care plan, scheduling an OT for our son, iron infusion and kids vaccinations and even wrapped a broken toe). They are a busy practice as trying to take care of so many patients and I really dont know why people complain as they have wonderful doctors here and its so much easier to get appointments compared to other practices. They are open 7 days a week with the best chemist in the same building. You can also get your blood work done with the lovely ladies upstairs. Try to schedule off peak as then you will get a parking spot.

Very friendly doctors and reception. Expensive service. I did a walk-in appointment (so I was just filling in for someone who didnt show up at that exact time), the appointment took 5min and I was still charged the full $80. I felt fleeced.

Took my son here on Sunday evening with symptoms reminiscent of an eye seizure that he acquired rapidly. Paid $85.00 for the Dr to inform me that my son was doing it voluntarily and even smirked when I showed her a video and remarked: he's just looking at you isn't he?. Im not sure how, when he is clearly rolling his eyes backwards in the video, while I was sitting on the ground in front of him. She sent us away with zero tests or referrals within less than five minutes. Of course I went elsewhere, and we are now under the care of a paediatrician who got us in urgently to do an MRI and EEG. Don't trust your kid's life with this place.
