Clare James Landscape Design

Clare has designed both our back garden (three years ago) and now our front garden. Both exercises have been transformational! Clever design married to excellent plant selection. We love to spend time in the two gardens and enjoy the low maintenance/high reward environment. Clare sources very good quality, healthy plants. Highly recommended! Service: Garden design

Clare developed a structure plan for our new garden followed by a detailed planting guide. This was achieved through an initial site visit to hear our vision for design of the garden and to look at site opportunities and constraints. A follow up visit was conducted once the structure plan was drafted. Clare has taken on board questions and feedback since then, and made some adjustments accordingly. We feel that Clare listened to our brief carefully and successfully translated it into a functional plan which we are now using to build our dream garden. Service: Custom landscape design

Unfortunately my experience is that Clare was completely unprofessional. She did not deliver on the requested brief, did not design my no 1 priority area, did not meet deadlines, off-loaded my design to an offsider, told me I had to finish the design myself, advised me to start digging holes and wait to order plants, then took payment for plants and then wrote saying she would not assist any further and I should source my own plants only a few days before the project installation date. I had to engage another professional to re-do the job for which I incurred extra costs. I have not experienced such unprofessionalism before and would never use Clare James again. I wish I had a great experience to report. However I don't. After paying $8K for her design services, she produced a design but there was no interface with her and selected contractor, there was zero communication. I love supporting small businesses but not when there's sub standard service. Really really disappointing and sadly I have nothing to show for exorbitant fees. Service: Garden design
