Rockhampton Hospital

The staff are either evil or negligent. I'd avoid this place and help us have it shut down before they destroy any more lives.

Waiting 8 months for total hip replacement. With damaged Fema and fractured Hip in extreme pain. Turned up for surgery got needle cannulated, and dressed in surgery gown then was told that it was cancelled now I have to wait 4 weeks in pain. Worst day of my life thanks Rockhampton Hospital.

My wife broke her arm on Saturday 22/4/23 and got the call to get to Rocky ASAP on the morning of the 25/4/23 for surgery (we live 2hrs away) so we organised mates to look after our 3 kids for the day as they said we would only be in here for the day. Got to the hospital checked in they wheeled her away for surgery so I left and came back 2 hrs later just to find out they pushed her straight back to the waiting area not long after I left we then sat around until 530pm to be told sorry we cant do your surgery today and we cant give you a time frame of when we can do it so we had to not only find accommodation for ourselves in Rocky but also sort out our kids which are 2hrs away. The staff were awesome and understood our frustration. The hospital is understaffed and not enough beds.. the place is a joke!! I filled out the survey/ complaints form already as well fix the system

The nursing staff were excellent the doctor who treated me less than good He gave me a local anaesthetic into my wrist with no preliminary gas or numbing agent He then started adjusting my left wrist instead of the right which was broken Then plastered my arm so tightly I was in agony all night Had to go to Yeppoon Hospital yesterday where they cut it off and replastered it He was a young NZ doctor Not impressed

They took good care of my husband when he was with double pneumonia which almost took his life.
