Hartley Hip and Knee - Dr Matthew Hartley - Ph 1300 HIP KNEE

I had intense pain in both my knees due to overuse from sporting. In 2018, I made an appointment to see Dr. Matthew Hartley with Diagnostic imaging to hear his findings. After he analyzed the scans, he couldn't see anything wrong with my knees and suggested getting in there with surgery to see whats wrong. That should be the last resort so I was surprised he said that!!! I decided not to go through surgery as it could complicate things. Its now 2023, and my knees are a bit better, but still sore if I do any strong impact sports like running. Dr. Matthew Hartley's consultation costed me over $600, and was of no help. And just to update my review in response to Dr. Matthew Hartley's comment: Dr. Hartley wouldn't have remembered what he told me in his office, but I certainly did. He DID suggest I go in to surgery as an option, but he also told me I could rest and see how it goes. I told him I'll wait and see how it goes, so therefore he quoted this to my GP. I expected more from a knee specialist.

Amazed at my speedy recovery after full hip replacement driving and back in pool after 2 weeks!! In hospital 3 days 4th day home and was totally independent. I give Many thanks to Dr Hartley and everyone involved. I have my life back.

Dr Hartley was brilliant. I had a work related knee injury that required surgery. I was surprised that our initial consultation was so quick. The reason is that he knows his stuff. Very approachable and nothing is a problem. A big shout out to his admin team as well. Great ladies who went out of their way to help. Nobody likes surgery but they all put me at ease. Highly recommended.

Dr Hartley Is fantastic, he fixed my Right Tibia another surgeon told me to get a walking cane. The Tibial nail was inserted incorrectly by another orthopaedic specialist surgeon which caused heat stress and erosion of the interior medullary canal distal aspect of my Tibia from the nail bottoming out and actually stopping the two edges of broken bone from meeting to knit correctly the ends of the bone together again. He also implanted a right total knee, I can now walk without a walking cane advised to be used by another surgeon. I saw three surgeons before I quit trying and found Dr Hartley whom was prepared to assist me with my concerns of facing life with a walking cane at 47 years of age. I have worked as a Clinical Specialist Theatre Nurse for 25 years fixing broken bones from broken Maxilla/Mandible (jaws), Cranium (head) to Phalangeals (toes) from initial hip and knee total replacements including fingers and elbows, practically every joint replacement able to be had to revision total joint replacements for loosening, infection etc risks associated with implants. I found Mr Hartley to be professional, understanding very knowledgeable and caring with his bedside manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Hartley for any of your orthopaedic surgical needs. I'm heading back to horse riding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your surgery is a credit to the profession of Medicine.

DR HARTLEY REPLACED BOTH MY HIPS IN APRIL 2019 AT THE SAME TIME !!!!! I AM NOW 71 AND LEADING A FULL ACTIVE LIFE THANKS TOTALLY TO HIM MY SURGERY WENT PERFECTLY A WEEK IN PINDARA THEN 10 DAYS IN REHAB WHICH I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO DO THANKYOU DR HARTLEY YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER
