Absolute rip off. Supposed to be an OP shop. This is without a doubt the most expensive Op shop I have ever been to.

This specific Salvation Army bears impressive abilities and savviness in the field of business. Warren Buffet, one of the great investors and financial tycoons of the modern era advises that the ability to recognise current trends is what sets top tier business apart from the rest of the low-laying-swampers. And boy let me tell you, he would be proud. This skill is on immediate display the second you walk into this joint. Preying upon the trend of repurposed fashion, this charity shop will slap a retro sticker on just about any ol piece of fabric bearing semblance of years bygone. Whether its barely held together, tattered with holes from that time your mates uncle crashed his Harley, or simply a dusty rag your mum once cleaned the kitchen with, this Salvos has you covered. You can be sure to find exorbitant prices tagged on a range of items purportedly vintage. Despite the asking price reflecting what should be a combo-deal, there is no lunch served at this establishment. Which is a rather fortunate case considering the throw up youll need to swallow as you pass a $225 price tag rapaciously hanging off the collar of a vintage (made in 2014) jacket. It must have been the obvious hole and artistic splash of white paint on black leather that inflated the price so. Perhaps it would fair better in an art gallery where the tatters can be admired by enthusiasts as an entropic representation. I took a deep breath and proceeded to the back of the store, praying to the cherubs that a $5 rack was nigh. Sadly i was again disappointed to find not much under $15-20, and what I found to be rather standard give-always. I do wonder how many of the people donating are aware of the lucrative fabrication happening at present. I feel it unfair to alchemise good-hearted donations into retro sections higher priced than most vintage stores Ive visited. I thought the op in op shop stood for the opportunity for those in need to be able to afford something otherwise out of reach, and not an opportunity for charities to operate as businesses whilst reaping the benefits of operating as said charity. Honesty is paramount to progression. Fairly this is a crisis sweeping the nation, and this particular Salvos shouldnt bear the entire weight of the issue, though certainly some portion is deserving. Ill visit again in a year and hope for change in a fairer direction.

Prices are beyond exorbitant.. $45 for a pair of USED jeans.. very greedy considering everything is donated. I felt violated!!!!
