G.J. Gardner Homes - Gold Coast North

We put a deposit on a House and Land package through this franchise in August 2021. After 9 months of delays with development the build price of the 35sq (off the plan) home increased by roughly 80% ($380k). Advertised and agreed inclusions were no longer honoured. The increase was well above comparable builders increases at this time. We have spent 3 months trying to get the build deposit back. They have agreed but dont seem to want to follow through. Unanswered calls, emails. When attending the office in person we were assured this would be rectified immediately. Another month has now passed and we have not received any further communication or refund. We know of others that are being refused a 20k land deposit that theyre entitled too. At a time where choosing your builder is very important, I would steer clear of this franchise Service: Home building

0 Stars If I could. Only builder from around 10 that I have contacted that couldn't give a rough quote on building costs. Sign of the times, GJ gardener is busy and they don't care. Ask for a price on how much for a E grade slab (rare but with this particular block something I'd had been advised to get pricing for). Answer was no idea never done one and can't get a price. Ask for a price on 4 different designs we liked. Got around $1300 sqm. Ask for N4 wind rating price increase. No idea. Ask for tanks and septic. Again no idea. Asked does it include solar or air-conditioning. Not sure it could but I'm not sure... On top of that the rough price was give or take $75,000 on a $350,000 build. The builds look great but how this guy has a job is beyond me. If you want to know a price of the build, good luck getting one. They just want to build and bill. Don't ask questions because they Can't be bothered.
