I had four wisdom teeth removed by Dr Christopher Chahoud yesterday at the Chermside Day Hospital under general anasthetic with Dr Anton Loewenthal. The initial consultation with my dentist Dr Chee at Gateway Dental was amazingly calm and reassuring. After being referred to Dr Chahoud, I had a consultation that was equally calm and reassuring - I instantly felt comfortable about Dr Chahoud conducting the surgery. He was happy to discuss a range of options and hospitals for the surgery as I had no health insurance. I arrived for my surgery at Chermside Day Hospital and was greeted by a lovely receptionist. Not long after I met a calm and reassuring nurse and equally calm and reassuring Dr Loewenthal who answered all my questions. After waiting a couple of hours I was taken to meet my anesthetic nurse who was also lovely, calm and reassuring. Shortly after I was taken into theatre room and greeted by Dr Chahoud and the nurses before being put on general anesthetic. 15 seconds later I was asleep. I woke up half an hour later in recovery and was taken care of by more helpful nurses before being given instructions, a care package and being discharged. My script was sent down to the pharmacy so my family could collect my prescription before taking me home. The whole process was really easy and comfortable. I really appreciate the assistance of everyone from the beginning to the end and look forward to eating normal food again! I highly recommend all medical professionals mentioned in this review.

If they had a minus 10 l would give the Brisbane Private Hospital, Doctor Williams and Anesthetist Benjamin Loh that! After having major Spinal Surgery l was thrown into withdrawals after Doctor Williams and Anesthetist Benjamin Loh removed my morphine patch during surgery and never replaced it, Benjamin Loh also failed to give me a morphine button and drastically cut my oral morphine medication by half after major spinal surgery. l was in agony for days with Brisbane Private Hospital nursing staff ignoring my pleas for pain relief and them giving me 2 Panadol every 4 hours. After 3 days of the worst withdrawals, with chronic severe pain, sweating, crying uncontrollably, my body spasming and cramping and nightmare nursing staff in Brisbane Private Hospital who told me "You have to give up the drugs" like l was some drug addict and who failed to pick up on the fact that my regular medications that l had been on since 2011 had been drastically reduced to less than a quarter; plus my morphine patch had been taken off completely and then also failing to ring either Doctor Williams who had gone on holidays straight after my surgery and didn't organise a releaving doctor for when he was away, the nurses didn't ring the Anesthetist Benjamin Loh either and the head nurse refused to come and see me and l was left to cry in agony for 3 days; with my body having uncontrollable cramps before l begged for a discharge to go home, they let me go home but didn't give me any antibiotics to take home with me; not even a prescription for some. Upon arriving home l realised only then that the reason l was in such intense withdrawals was because Anesthetist Benjamin Loh took my pain patch off during surgery and didn't put a new one on and failed to inform nursing staff that he took it off, this threw me into major withdrawals, no morphine drip either. 3 Days after my release from hospital my back developed a big hot lump where the wound was, l contacted Doctor Williams office, he was still on holidays, his secretary said Doctor Williams said "It will be fine; come in and see him in a month". I was quite worried because the lump was very big and really hot; his very rude secretary told me to send her photos for her to send him so Doctor Williams could advise me of what to do by email, but he never got back to me. My own GP said "That is not looking good, you HAVE TO see your surgeon", so on the day Doctor Williams got back l rang up and said l needed to see him, his secretary was adamant she was not going to let me see him. I insisted and told her l was on my way because the lump had grown to the size of a small bowling ball and l was not feeling well. By the time l got there his secretary was filthy mad but l got to see him in any case. Doctor Williams told me "That will be fine, the only time you will have trouble with that is if a doctor opens it up an exposes it to the air". The very next day l ended up in the Mater Private Hospital fighting for my life, throwing up, shivering and sweating; the bowling ball on my back was so BIG now and really hot to touch, it was full of puss, the infection had entered my blood stream and the Doctor who saved my life 'Doctor Aiken's' and 'Professor McCormack' said "You are lucky to be alive", they had to reopen the wound; scrape out and wash out the puss, they were worried the infection had reached the titanium rods in my spine which if it had meant it would keep re-infecting, luckily it hadn't. I spent the next two weeks in hospital fighting for my life on double the highest strength antibiotics by PIC straight into my heart and another 6 weeks at home with a nurse visiting daily to change my wound dressings and antibiotics. It cost me thousands of dollars to go to the Mater Private Hospital and when l asked Doctor Williams to pay for these costs he just laughed at me and hung up. If you value your life don't go to Brisbane Private, Doctor Williams or Anesthetist Benjamin Loh. When Doctors think they are God we bury their mistakes, l was very lucky. You have been warned!
