Had chainsaw leaking oil there twice for repair. First time they couldn't find anything. Second time they said fixed and also did performance test. However, chainsaw was still leaking just when moved. When I tried to start it the chain was so tight that the motor was unable to move it. How did they do a performance test?

I honestly believe the negative reviews left are incredibly unfair and unfortunate. I found Troy to be extremely honest, reasonable and helpful from start to finish. I'd called late on a Wednesday afternoon after knocking the head on my friend's Honda 4 stroke whipper snipper. Unfortunately, while I found every part, I couldn't find the darn spring. It's not uncommon to not find the spring, they tend to fly off into the sunset. You're extremely fortunate if you do manage to find it. Given I had a veritable jungle to attack and there's a current snake problem, I was super keen to get the head repaired pronto. I called Performance Mowers & Chainsaws, explained my problem and the model of whipper snipper. Troy was a complete gentleman and told me to head on down. He'd certainly be able to get me back in business. Arriving at 15:30hrs, true to his word, he had a new head on in no time. Unfortunately there wasn't a spring in stock at the time, nor a Honda head for that particular model. He was more than happy to order it in, but time wasn't my friend. I needed it sorted out immediately. He assured me the head I'd purchased was heavy duty and my friend wouldn't be disappointed. He also was very happy to demonstrate how to put on a different type of blade she was unsure of how to do. He assured me if I found the spring or acquired one, to come back and he'd be happy to fit it. Unfortunately or fortunately as the case may be, rain prevented me from being able to test out the wonderful looking new head. I explained to my friend what happened. She felt a new head wasn't necessary and insisted on purchasing a new spring. I tried to convince her to keep the new head, though she assured me she rather me save my money. I had gone to Performance Mowers & Chainsaws in the belief this was her regular servicing dealership. I had even sent her the link to it. She was convinced it was the right place. On Thursday she contacted me advising she'd procured a new spring from the same dealership, however she hadn't seen Troy. I called Troy on Friday explaining my friend had procured a spring from his dealership. He was confident she must be mistaken. He didn't have one in stock. However, given I hadn't been able to use the head, he was more than happy to swap them over and redund me. I asked her to provide me with all the parts, and the receipt. As soon as I looked at the receipt, I realised she indeed was mistaken. She'd been to a different dealership. I felt like a Muppet. I came down on Saturday morning, tail between my legs and explained to Troy there had been a mix up. I didn't expect a refund. Under the ACCC trade practices act, I wasn't entitled to it. Troy saw the humour in the situation. Rather than making me feel awful, he quickly replaced the head, even restrung it and refunded me without question all with a smile and grace. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Performance Mowers & Chainsaws to anyone. If I could award more than 5 stars, I would. Troy, you're a legend. Thank you again. You truly went above and beyond.

Worst mower & whipper repair place ever. I took my Stihl whipper snipper initially to get repaired as it wouldn't start. Waited almost two weeks for call to let me know its repaired. I picked it up, got it home only to find it still wouldn't start. Took it back three times and every time leaving it to be repaired and every time I would take it home only again it wouldnt start. I took it back the fourth time and videoed one of the staff members having difficulty starting it. I asked for my money back as it wasnt fixed. I was refused. Sameday, I took it to Cairns mower Repairs and they fixed it in a few minutes and costing a total $22.00, only a loose plug. Went back to Performance mowers with the whipper snipper and job report showing - loose spark plug and starts and have no issues. As they didn't fix it I asked for my refund of $130.00 and again was refused. This was a horrible experience that caused me alot of stress and it cost me more money with driving back and forth and a total waste of my time. The new manager was extremely rude and useless. He totally ignored the job report from Cairns Mowers and still refused me my refund. I definitely wouldn't recommend and save yourself the hassle, grief and extra money and go elsewhere. Thanks for reading.
