I underwent surgery on 25/1/23 and Dr Torben Wentrup was my anaesthetist, I felt comfortable straight away, Dr Torben introduced himself, explained the entire process, and spoke to me in detail about the medication I would receive both during and after the surgery. My surgery was pretty invasive however my recovery has been super easy and not as painful as expected, I put this down to the pain management received and the amazing teamwork between both the surgeon and Dr Torben.

This is a review related to my experience with Dr Sue Clark. I had a surgery at Brisbane Private Hospital on 29 Sept and Dr. Clark met me before the procedure and explained the type of sedation she will be using, why she will be using it and what to expect during and after the surgery. She also asked specific questions related to my health and communicated with me directly by email after the surgery to update me on possible health conditions i might be having in order for me to seek additional information from my GP. I was billed for the anaesthetic part of the procedure and paid the full amount two days before the operation; after the operation, i was told that my anaesthetic account came less than what i paid (it seems they required less effort/drugs than anticipated) and was refunded the difference. I really appreciated the care, honestly and professionalism, i felt and knew that i was in good hands.

Dr Torben Wentrup, Wesley Anaesthesia & Pain Management Brisbane 29th Sep 2022 Anaesthesia for 'percutaneous spinal procedures'. He was in a rush. He introduced himself in the waiting room, which took10 seconds, then walked away down the corridor with two nurses accompanying me, they were chatting and I could not hear what the doctor in front of me was saying. I could not conduct a conversation with this doctor during our consultation in spite of repeated efforts to do so. I stopped at the doorway into the procedure room to try and talk with him and he took my arm and encouraged me forward, apparently not in the least bit interested in what I felt was important information that I needed to discuss with him. All he had to say was that I will soon be asleep and everything will be fine. He was only concerned with positioning me on the procedure table, he was in a rush. Now complete with BP cuff and nasal prongs the two nurses are manipulating me onto the table and prematurely place an unexpectedly cold (antistatic?) pack on the back of my thigh. I am trying to get comfortable, the doctor, who is still in a rush, is telling me it will be OK as I will soon be asleep. Consequently we never really had a consultation. He was in a rush the whole time. From introducing himself to knocking me out would have been

Dr Moses was wonderful and reassuring. Could not have been better and I felt very safe in her hands. My only complaint was I was quoted $910 by the anaesthestist over the phone after she asked how long the surgeon thought the procedure should take approx 1 1/2 hours, also 3 dental implants, 3 bone grafts and sinus lift. One business day prior to surgery I got a text asking for full payment. When I rang to ask they said $1450? I'd received no invoice at any point, only the phone call which I based my savings around (having no private health insurance I would have to budget for this,) Regarding $500 increase so close to surgery they just said 'did you get the original quote in writing?' Also accused me of having said during conversation with anaesthetist was i was having extractions therefore lesser fee??? Warning. Get first quote in writing regardless, seems an unethical process to me lacking timely transparency. Anesthesist very ethical, company not so. I hope they could rectify this in some measure to appear more fair, as their actions were unreasonable to put upon someone to raise a substantial amount of extra money within a few hours. A stressful shock for most people already feeling nervous and vulnerable before surgery.
