Dr Erwin Groeneveld is a superstar! I am someone who suffers severe anxiety when faced with medical concerns and treatment. I have a bit of "white coat syndrome" I've been told on many different occasions. However, from my initial referral to consultation, subsequent surgery and follow-up appointments, I have received nothing short of exemplary service and treatment. The ladies at reception have been marvellous, ensuring I was comfortable. The optometrists have been reassuring, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The good Dr is a miracle worker... I honestly did not know what to expect coming out of surgery, but I felt great. The information and advice I have received has been invaluable and I cannot recommend Brisbane Eye Clinic highly enough. Every step of the way, I have been informed. I have never been comfortable with any Dr, due to my anxieties but having had the best ophthalmologist in town, I know my vision is in great hands! Thanks Dr G!!!

I felt like I was given misleading information when contacting Brisbane Eye Clinic re cataract surgery. The package price quoted was $3500 fully inclusive which blew out to $4700. I had already had one cataract removed at another clinic but went with Brisbane Eye Clinic to keep the cost down with the second eye. In hindsight, I should have paid the extra which my previous clinic quoted, as I had a much better end result with my first eye. Dr Groenveld admitted at my review that the result was disappointing but to go in and rotate the lens to give a better result was risky for little reward. I was also surprised that my optometrist had not received any results from my cataract surgery (from BEC) or, the paperwork that my GP had to provide the clinic with, did not reach Peninsular Private Hospital for my surgery and Brisbane Eye Clinic had not followed up on the results (from the clinic where my first eye was done) in time for my surgery. While I think the Surgeon was kind and the reception staff were pleasant, I wouldnt be recommending this clinic to anyone else. The waiting times were so long at each of my 3 appointments....I think the staff are booking appointments way too close together...a wait time of between 1.5 and 2.75 hours is unacceptable, especially in a very crowded uninspiring waiting room...people were spilling out into the corridors. In summary, a disappointing result for a lot of money paid. My surgery was done in November 2020 so the eye may not be fully healed but I think, from my experience with my first eye, this is as good as it will get.

Terrible service I am absolutely shocked!!! This is the third time I go back to this place and all of the three times I paid 245$! I had an eye infection, the first time I saw doc Grenoveld he prescribed me Antibiotics saying that within a week my infection would be gone and if it didnt he would incise the stye . It obviously wasnt so I had to go back and see if he could incise it like he said at first but instead he literally saw me like 5 min (for another 245$) and gave me more antibiotics to take despite the fact I told him antibiotics were hurting my stomach. I ended up not going back for some time and looking after the infection on my own. Now the infection Is back so I went back yesterday to see a different doctor thinking this time it would go better and give them my absolute trust despite the previous experiences, but it turned out to be even worse. She said she couldnt see anything on my eye and she prescribed me an ointment that I already had and yet again another 245$ to see her 10 minutes. I told her I am on a visa and I cant keep coming back and spending all of these money and her answer was: dont you worry you take this ointment and if the infection get worse you come back and see me. She literally didnt listen a word of what I said. These doctors obviously wants patients to keep coming back so they can get money out of them!! I m definitely never coming back and will not recommend this place to anyone! The only good thing about this place was the receptionist who was Lovely and helpful and I could see she saw and understood how upset I was but it was out of her hands as she has to do what the doctors say. Oh I forgot to mention my appointment was 11:30 and I was seen at nearly 1 pm. Every time I went there is always the same. 40 min to 1 hours wait. Dont even waste your time here!!!
