Hale River Homestead at Old Ambalindum

Fantastic weekend getaway We had a really lovey experience camping overnight at Hale River Homestead just off the Binnis track in the east McDonald ranges. Lyn Sean, Sophie and crew do an excellent job, and make you feel right at home. If youre not up for camping, they have lots of comfortable accommodation. The place is well-kept and beautifully presented with lots of history. We had dinner at the toolshed, and it was absolutely delicious ! We will definitely be back !

Hands down the best stopover on our travels to date. The setting for camping is a quiet grassy area with trees and fire pits, and there's a range of accommodation in the bunk house, cottages, and the old original homestead. Loads of character with quirky garden art and all sorts of stuff inside the buildings. The Sunday roast was exceptional. And the hosts are really friendly and helpful. An absolutely wonderful restful stay.

Thank you so much Lynne and Sean for a wonderful few nights at your gorgeous homestead. We loved the chats with you about the property and the facilities were great. we had everything we needed. Happy hour was such fun and we had a great group staying with you at the same time. Lots of stories at the bar each night. We especially loved the cooked breakfast and the bacon was superb!! Well done on what you have achieved at hale. It is the best. Xxx
