Be prepared to wait. Wait up to 4 weeks for parts, up to 2 weeks to get them put in, up to 6 hours on the day to do a 1 hr job. Seriously, if you break down in Alice & have any kind of life to get back to, don't worry about authentic parts, get repairs somewhere else.

Dear Alice Springs People, Please do not drive VW cars - in Alice Springs, we have worst dealer shop Very rude customer service / takes long / no care / I did three time service total but all the service was extremely bad Plus / very expensive

Horrible Took my car in on the Monday and told them exactly what was wrong with it and asked if a mechanic could have a 5 minute look to make sure I was right and to order parts if necessary Reply no were flat out but you can book it in on Friday. Did that. With the woman Rebecca writing down what was wrong with it. Went back Friday and explained that I didnt want the car pulled apart if they didnt have the parts And was asked well what do you want us to do. The guy behind the counter was switched on and said we will do an inspection and let you know. Thanks mate. 2 hours later phone call your car has exactly the same problem you brought it in for No we dont have time to fix it today. Why the hell did I take it there or book it in Useless to say the least.

Our VW Crafter motorhome broke down at Alice Springs and the earliest they would look at it was 12 days. They refused to diagnose the problem to determine if spare parts were required. A common part was ordered to have on hand but wasn't needed. I was told it was a blown fuse ($.80) and charged $258. Obviously not the problem as that same fuse blew again shortly after leaving the dealership. We returned to Suttons and was told to go to an auto electrician. First one was too busy and next one would mean another 2 week wait. The fuse is obviously not the problem as that same fuse needed replacing 35 times on our 3 day dash back to Tassie. During that very stressful drive we learnt an Amarok owner had to wait 17 days for service at this dealership and their problem wasn't resolved either. My issue is that a VW dealership would/should ensure VW vehicles are professionally and thoroughly dealt with but after waiting 12 days and incurring considerable cost this was not the case. I cannot recommend Sutton VW.
