I have been apart of the practice since I was born. The was located at teralba at that time and relocated to toronto. About 7years ago my family Dr retired and since than every Dr I take on has either left or retired. I think in total 5 different Drs. Last year my Dr left and i wasn't notified and i was in the middle of having blood works and tests done and this wasn't followed up. Another Dr ended up taking on her Patient's and same thing has happened again, i have recently learnt throught my mother that he had retired now. The staff didn't notify me of him leaving and I was in the process of getting test done. Who do I send the results to if I don't have a Dr? I also tried to book a Drs appointment for my 12year old son very recently, who has been attending the surgery since he was born and because my son is healthy and hasn't needed to see a Dr I have been told by one the receptionist that he can't see anyone as his Dr has retired and when I asked if he could possibly see one of the other Drs at the surgery the receptionist said "no, he cant he is now classed as a new patient as he hasn't seen a Dr recently and none of them are taking on new patients" . So now my 12year old son is without a Dr and until i find one that is taking on new patients I will have no choice but to wait in the emergency department at JHH and put out the poor over worked nurses there. Honestly this is disgraceful.

My partner has been going to this practice for 20+ years seeing dr beckhouse. This doctor who should know him well still knows nothing of his disability, has never helped with resources and is very dismissive when he asks for help. The staff are overall rude and I wouldnt recommend this clinic to anybody.

I would not recommend this practice to anyone especially those with children, you cannot get an appointment when your child is sick. I was told the next appointment I could get for my 4 year old daughter was in 3 weeks time. Not much help when they are sick now. Its not a wonder that the ER at John Hunter is always packed when you cant get an appointment with a GP for sick children when required. Their prices have increased substantially and they even charge full rates $89 for follow up phone appointment to discuss results. The doctors are always changing and leaving, I havent been able to see the same doctor twice in the last 18 months. To top it off most (not all) of the reception and account admin staff are rude and have no compassion for the sick and elderly people that are in front of them. I was reminded by one of the admin staff that as i was changing practices that 'if i wanted my medical history sent to the new practice, I would have to pay $35'. I didnt even ask or bring up my changing practices, they called me to pay another bill for a follow up appointment! All they care about is the $$$$ Horrible practice!

My mother has been to this practice for 51 years since she was 14 years of age. The doctors, nurses and old reception staff were amazing. Since they moved to the Boulevard at Toronto, they ended up with new reception staff, my mother feels fearful to ask the receptionist to make an appointment as she is always met with an impolite and nasty demeanour. She states the receptionists are so rude and have no compassion. She gets nervous showing up to her appointments because she is met with rudeness from the reception staff, they offer no solution or any help. I myself have experienced the reception staff going off and yelling at an elderly lady, because she needed a prescription for her heart medication and hadn't realised her repeats had ran out. She had explained she only had one tablet left. The reception staff were cold and callous and told her, you have an appointment in 2 weeks and that is all i can offer you. It is the receptionist letting down this once beautiful practice. Bring back the old reception staff. You're in this business for care and compassion to patients. Start showing compassion towards your patients because they are what keep your business going.
