You will be discriminated against. It takes one terrible experience to make you never want to go back. One of the Wednesday volunteers should be thoroughly ashamed of her behavior and how she treated me. I checked in, wore my mask, sanitized my hands. After spending 25 minutes having an absolutely wonderful time, I go to pay. While waiting to pay, the lady asks, "Sorry, I forgot to ask if you are vaccinated?" I told her the truth, I am not. Immediately she causes a scene. Raises her voice, "Why aren't you vaccinated!!!!?" As if my medical choices are anyone's bussiness. She went from being friendly and personable, to treating me like a leper in front of everyone. She told the other volunteer who was talking with me, "Back up, you're immunocompromised and she's not vaccinated!!" I had two plants in hand waiting to pay for, noticed a spider and she speaks loudly for everyone to hear, "I don't know why you're scared of the spider, COVID WILL DO A LOT MORE HARM THAN THAT SPIDER!!!" I was in utter shock and didn't have anything to say to her. I respect everyone's feelings regarding this pandemic. It's stressful, confusing and terror inducing for some. However, the public shame, humiliation and disrespect I received from this lady, once I stated I was unvaccinated, was absolutely degrading and out-of-line. This is how you treat your members and fellow citizens? Let me reiterate, I wore my mask, sanitized my hands and checked in. If she was this afraid of an unvaccinated for Sars-Covid 2 person, she should have asked before I shopped for 25 minutes. Needless to say, I didn't end up purchasing the plants. I've been going to the plant sales nursery for two years and recently decided to finally pay to become a member. Hate to say it, but I now regret becoming a member, as I will not likely be returning to the nursery which is what I used my membership for.
