Dr Katrina is a wonderful doctor. She's personable, warm, reassuring and professional. I am so glad I chose to go with her for my fertility treatment. I felt comfortable to ask anything, and trust her judgements and skills. She is thorough, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients. I cannot recommend her enough.

Dr Rowan is a warm and caring doctor as well as realistic which I value most; she always informed me from the beginning that it might be a long road ahead. I followed Dr Rowan from Genea, where we successfully conceived my daughter, to Monash IVF to try again for our second baby. I have been successful in both clinics under her care and would highly recommend her to anyone who is about to go on this journey. Dr Rowan understood our needs, accepted our decisions and supported us every step of the way and I am extremely grateful that she has aided us in growing a family.

I went in Feburary 2022. I was very clear I wanted everything to be face to face. It was off a bad experience with another fertility provider so I was trying to get my things noted so I could move forward and hopefully have a better experience. We were fine in conversation untill I mentioned I was a childhood abuse survivor and she said "you wouldn't want your children to be abused too". This set us off onto a bad foot as it showed she had an opinion. I was explaining why things had to be face to face for what would be hundreds of thousands of dollars in investments and that trust is something I struggle with in health providers. Despite this I needed surgery to happen so I decided to just try and go ahead so we had linned up to continue after i explained in lengthy emails to her secretary (point of communication for her) on how her comments were not appreciated. We were all good to go with another appointment to discuss embroyo creation as it was something we had not heard of and needed more on that before starting when she became sick and had to cancel our appointment last minuite. I called the Monash number and they offered me another appointment or person but given how long we waiting and my information at the time which was the thought I was going through menopause at 35 I decided to move on Also she was never going to do the surgery herself but take the money and have a different person at bondi do it due to me being over their BMI requirement. I do not really understand that as if you are not doing the work and somone else is why not have me under that person and limit confusion. If a Doctor cannot do it why not just give me to someone else instead. A situation occured where I asked her to connect with my GP about what was happening which I am told she did. My GP in phone call stated early menopause is what this specilist had stated was going on. This may have just been poor communication on Dr Rowans part and a misunderstanding. However the impact on me and my fiance was huge. It took months and further testing by another fertility provider for me to get over that and settle down. If it was a misunderstanding there may have been poor communication and an assumption all medical professionals have the same knowledge that could have been prevented. It was not a good experience and I would not recommend this lady as your fertility doctor. People are allowed to have opinions about people and the stuff they have gone through. However as a medical professional it is the responsibility of the doctor to not let their clients know this and if having concerns discuss it with the person. Communication between someone's team including GP is so important to prevent minunderstands and to prevent unnecessary/unwanted/unneeded stress. If you are a childhood abuse or someone who has experienced trauma steer clear. Also if your BMI is high maybe not this doctor or Monash (maybe Bondi but check first) as there are places who will get you pregnant and freeze eggs (in my case for a surgery not to become pregnant). We moved on elsewhere and we are so happy we did.
