If I could give this cinema no stars I would, one staff member working at the tix/ refreshment counter, Really chatty & laughing with her 3 friends at the counter but Really rude & unfriendly to Us & the people before us, at $26 per ticket -this is the 2nd time recently that we've had a really dirty cinema, popcorn, drink straws & chip packets on the floor & shoved down the sides of the seats, a bad damp smell, Recliner not working,the movie kept skipping, dirty toilets, water on the floor, No manager available, Won't be going back to event, - My advice go a few K's further to METRO cinemas at Lake Haven, super friendly staff, Huge screens & spotless only paid $12 & will be going back to metro, really nice multiplex cinema

Where's customer service? I wanted to say, the 3 cinemas I've been to, burwood, miranda and hurstville all have stale popcorn. Tastes like it's been there for weeks. A few months ago, there was a dead cockroach at the burwood cinema where the premade popcorn boxes were. There was a staff member cleaning, but hasn't cleaned out the dead roach? Burwood and Hurstville have both had stale choctops aswell!!!!!!!! Seriously???? If you're going to charge that much for things, the LEAST you can do is provide non-stale food. How appalling.

This review is rated one star to reflect the absolutely awful Event Cinemas customer support model. The staff on site in the cinemas are excellent but totally let down by the corporate side. Case in point...in the current Covid context, I needed to change a booked session a second time because family members had gone into quarantine. Couldn't do it via the website as I'd already done it once. I tried contacting Event for support but found there is no contact point for customers online or via phone, except a general enquiries web form which nobody seems to respond to, and a 13 phone number with a recorded greeting that directs you to said web form then hangs up on you. The only way I could get a resolution was to visit the cinema in person and ask the ticket office team (who were excellent). They organised a refund so I could rebook from scratch. In the end it took me three attempts to see the movie I wanted to see, and had to go in, in person for both changes to organise a refund. And one of those refunds was done incorrectly (only one ticket refunded instead of six) and, you guessed it, had to get that fixed in person too. It's almost like they want to take your money but the moment anything goes wrong, they hope you'll get frustrated and give up. I won't even call it customer service. More like customer no-service. I don't expect anybody from Event corporate will respond, because the only interest they seem to have in their customers, is what's in our wallets.
