Went to see Dr Richard Parkinson a while back and I was quite disappointed by the end of the meeting. I understand that surgeons are in and out of surgery can be a tad late, or even tired. But he didnt even have the time of day to answer some important questions I had. My meeting was at 4pm.. called in from admin at 4:15 was ushered out by him at 4:28 and Dr RP Showbag folder containing his surgery options geez.. $450 - 30min meeting was a joke. Its not the money I care about.. I have money, I dont care about that, its more the time I wanted to ask some important question about major spinal surgery.

I found Dr. Parkinson verry easy to talk to and he explained in detail, the problem and also the cure. After four previous operations on my lower back over forty years, I feel that the problem may have finally been fixed. and I am verry grateful to Dr Parkinson for this. I also would mention the post operative attention from Dr. Parkinson and the nurse was excellent

Dr Parkinson- The Man with the Golden Hands. Dr Parkinson did surgery on me a month ago. Prior to the surgery I was bed ridden for 3 months. As soon as I woke from surgery the excruciating pain I had running down my arm, down my back and pins and needles was instantly gone. Obviously I had pain where he operated on my spine but that was normal. My scar is healing well. I do not look like I have been butchered. I can certainly say that Dr Parkinson is a great Surgeon, a Professional. He attentively listens to your concerns and has a solution. I feel safe and confident with his advice. Thank you Dr Parkinson for everything and my quality of life.

THE BEST DOCTOR HANDS DOWN. TAKE IT FROM A PERSON WITH A 10 YEAR BACK PROBLEM: I have been with Dr Parkinson now for almost 8 years. I had a disc problem around 10 years ago, where I was referred to a random local Neurosurgeon who was nothing but a "surgeon". The first time I saw him, his advice was "surgery". Therefore, I went with his advice and had a discectomy. After this surgery I was worse. The pain got much worse. I am not in the business of shaming people and this is not the purpose of this review, therefore I won't mention his name. I then got a second and third opinion and no one could explain the cause of the pain nor could they suggest any treatment. I eventually did my own research and found Dr Parkinson on Google. His reviews were very good, and must I say all the reviews were 100% true. I asked other doctors, physios etc. about him and his reputation was unbelievably good. Every one in the industry said he was the best. I saw Dr Parkinson, and in the first few years he tried many different alternatives to surgery even though a second surgery was an option. Dr Parkinson wanted to leave surgery as a last resort. I could clearly see that his first priority was the patient and not the money he would make by performing surgery. This is rear in the Neurosurgeon community as some Doctors make $80k plus just for one surgery. Dr Parkinson was a lovely lovely gifted doctor that genuinely cares about his patients. As far as his ability as a doctor goes, I would rate him 9.8 out of 10. Ten points being reserved for the best doctor ever, period. But as far as a Neurosurgeon in Australia goes, he is definitely 10 out of 10. Dr Parkinson is clearly very intelligent and gifted but what sets him apart from the others is that he is a true artist. Some doctors learn to be doctors and others are just born to be doctors. Everything he did or advice was really good. Unfortunately, my back had a problem that the MRI machine could not show due to the limitations of our current technology (I obviously found this afterwards). Eventually several years later my low back disc ruptured and I could not walk. I went to see Dr Parkinson immediately and he indicated that I now needed surgery urgently. He performed a fusion on my lower back the very next day using some type of minimal intrusion technique which left a very small scar and recovery time was much quicker then my first surgery. The pain reduced dramatically and I could walk again. As a person, Dr Parkinson is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. A true old-fashioned gentleman. Very polite, listens to his patients, caring, kind and I can keep going. Just an overall lovely lovely guy. He has my trust and respect 1000%. His team are 10 out of 10. They truly compliment Dr Parkinson. They take care of and look after everything. Nothing is ever too hard for them. Dr Parkinson, if you read this I would like to thank you for all the years of support and help. At a very low point of my life, you did not give up on me. To anyone else reading this, go see him once and make up your own mind. I believe you will come to the same conclusion as I did. Back problems are hard, very painful and complex. Please do your own research, dont jump into surgery straight away unless you have no other option and only see the best as I eventually did. Good luck
