Traditional Wing Chun, it's a none commercial school, everyone is really friendly. They teach the essence of wing Chun nothing fancy but it works.

I have been with the school for 12 months. I started because I had a couple of medical conditions and my doctor recommended me to practise Martial Arts. I wasn't sure what I was doing in the first lesson, but over time my stand /MA along with other techniques have improved with master's guide and seniors' help. I am not the person who is learning the fastest in the class, but I am happy with the outcome. Moreover, it is not a commercial environment. It is like a community. If you are in Sydney, if you want to practise Wing Chun, you should come here and have a go.

I think its only fair to train here for over a year before being able to give an honest review. Best thing is no lock in contracts and no class limits. This place is not for everyone, but if you are looking for authentic Wing Chun martial arts in Sydney, taught traditionally using modern methods not "mystical powers", this is it!! My advice is just come and try it, there was no pressure to join, and you have nothing to lose, i regret not coming earlier. Because I was checking out other schools. If you want to know more continue to read below: I was looking for a Wing Chun school in Sydney and prefer traditional schools over commercial types where you lose some of the culture and the teaching is standardized without much deep meaning. So i tried a few places in Sydney and settled for Derek Fung Wing Chun. In Sydney, this school is very unique, Grandmaster Derek Fung and Sifu Mike are passionate for the art and not teaching for the money and this shows from their teaching. The students are friendly and make you feel really welcome, and the senior students are easily approachable if i have any questions and also give me more information. The training is stimulating, for a martial art this is much more mentally challenging , and forces you to learn more about yourself and discover your weaknesses. The best part is this school builds you from the base (called stance) and give you a strong fundamental, utilized internal energy and structure and more efficiently use your body weight. You don't learn fancy 5 hit combos, but once the fundamentals are there, you can add it in yourself. Other things which are great: low fees, paid monthly (no contracts!!), and you can go to as many classes (3-4), which i highly recommend if you are new. Edit:still a great place
