Dr Manu Mathur

I was operated on the 15th of September 2022 by Dr. Manu Mathur, for MVR + AVR +MAC Resection/Repair + Septal Myectomy. I knew that this operation was high risk and had less than 50% chance of success, but since I saw Dr. Manu, he gave me a lot of confidence and made me take the decision to have the operation. Dr. Manu is not only a brilliant surgeon but also an absolute gentleman. He is a wonderful human being! Since I am his patient, he has always supervised my recovery. He is a very special person and very dedicated to his profession, I really thank God that he put him in my way. God bless you Dr. Manu.

I owe Dr Mathur immense gratitude for saving my life, not once but twice. He replaced a leaking aorta valve back in 2010. This kept me alive until it started leaking again, 12 years later. I was lucky enough to have Dr Mathur perform my second operation, which again saved my life. This man is not only a brilliant surgeon but also an absolute gentleman. He is a wonderful human being! Dr Mathur operated on me in May 2022. This man goes above and beyond anything you would expect to provide for his patients' needs. A lovely person and a brilliant surgeon, I cannot thank Dr Mathur and the staff at North Shore Private Hospital enough.

Prolonging life may not be that significant to a professional like Dr Manu Mathur as it is his daily routine. I can tell you at the age of 69 it was the gift of life and highly significant to me. I was informed that had I not have had the BYPASS operation that my days were numbered. Naturally my logical side took over and I was GRATEFUL to be given the opportunity(having never had a general anaesthetic) to have the skills of Dr Mathur, operate on me successfully and make my experience to say the least "enlightening" His gentle manner, his forthrightness is exactly what you want when you are placed in this dilemma. Dr Mathur's follow up process is second to none, concise, informative and delivered in a gentle forthright manner. I am so grateful that Dr Mathur decided to take on my cause at the Royal North Shore Hospital and my appreciation is given(with my new heart) to him personally and his extremely competent, team of Professionals. If you are reading this Google review its likely you are trying to find a cardiothoracic surgeon in Sydney. Its an emotional and daunting task to find a heart surgeon you can trust, who has the experience and expertise you need. You wont have to look further than Dr Mathur. 1. Dr Mathur successfully operated on my father in June 2020. This was on the basis that he needed a mitral valve replacement as the major part of the surgery. 2. At the beginning of the surgery it was discovered that Dad also needed his aortic valve replaced. Dr Mathur kept us in the loop with what was happening and was able to replace both valves. 3. After 11 hours in surgery, Dr Mathur still found time to see us straight afterwards and give us (worried family members) a run down of the operation. 4. When I was doing my research on Dr Mathur prior to the operation (which is natural because you want the best for your loved ones), I reached out to people I knew in the medical industry - hands down everybody said he was a fantastic doctor, meticulous, skilled and just a really nice person. They also advised that the cardiac team at NSPH were amazing (which we found to be true). I was also told Dr Mathur had particular experience with Mitral Valve surgery, which was very comforting. 5. Every interaction we had with Dr Mathur was positive. No question we asked was too silly. He is a genuinely decent human being and extremely kind and compassionate. My father recovered in record time and was back to work in 4 weeks, so he is a testament to the skills and experience of Dr Mathur. We feel indebted to Dr Mathur and have the utmost respect for him.
