Posting for my step-mother. She stated she had a really good experience with Dr.Alison Chiu. She operated on her second eye and she couldnt fault her work. She is a lovely doctor.

After having a bad experience at at previous clinic, I found that the services Dr. Chiu and her staff were phenomenal. She did a fantastic job treating my cataracts, explaining conditions I was suffering from in a thorough but friendly manner, and ensured that I had a smooth prep, surgery and held great attention to the follow ups whilst I was recovering. Her staff were very friendly and professional, putting you at ease with the process and attending to every need. Highly recommended.

I DO NOT recommend Dr Alison Chiu. I had Three Focal Lens procedure in both eyes from somewhere else. It was perfect and after 4 years I needed to get my right eye lens cleaned (which is normal). I went to Dr Alison Chiu to clean my right eye lens. During the procedure her technique was painful (& my eye was physically touched) and I ended up having 'Floating'. She said it was normal and will go away. I went to my original Dr for my left eye. He used laser (my eye was not touched at all & absolutely no pain experienced), 10 secs and my eye is perfect. He had a look at my right eye and said she used an older technique and older machine. He said they don't use this machine any more. He said the resulting floating will take 6 - 7 yrs to possibly go away. There's a chance this is permanent. Dr Alison Chiu should keep herself current and use the latest techniques & machines. I feel really let down. I don't recommend her. Her price was significantly higher than my original Dr.
