Defence Force Recruiting Centre Sydney

The ultimate experience of bureaucratic inefficiency. Long story cut short: position offered for gap year, small dr error on medical certificate and the bureaucratic process was incapable of resolution for intake. Position opened in following month and rather than email they attempted to call when out of mobile range and were uncontactable on reply. They didnt text or email. They tried only twice then said entry had lapsed. Its as if DoD doesnt want an intake of the best people. Incompetent & Ridiculous

Recruiting suggestion....why dont you live stream into schools and recruiting centres and have live chats with prospective recruits from operational locations or exercises. Give them a real life view of the opportunities. Being mindful of security concerns.

On 16/11/21 I accompanied my year 12 son to the recruitment session in Rhodes. The two ladies, one representing the Air Force and the other representing Army were just outstanding. They were very knowledgeable and the energy they provided in the room was infectious. This was solely for my son but I felt the connection as having a 12 year background serving in the United States Marine Corp. The memories of my days of being recruited started to come back and it was quite touching. Thank you for allowing my son to attend along with the information you provided as you both have left an amazing impression in helping him to decide on his future. Thank you ADF for setting a platform for our kids in this wonderful country of Australia by giving an honest and lifetime opportunity for the young generation. Semper Fidelis!
