We engaged Frank from HCT Engineering to complete our structural engineering plans for our new build, prior to engaging our builder. Our home, being a large home needed multiple structural beams in place, where Frank provided a lack of understanding, care and accuracy of one of the beams in the most important part of our home. This beam was supposed to be within the roof space, however, a straight beam was not going to achieve the desired outcome. Frank believed a straight-line on his plans was suffice to show that the beam was to be erected, however it was up to the builder to make it work. This is absolutely wrong and this was not the service what we paid for. Basically what Frank is saying is that a square peg can fit in a round hole. When discussing the issue with Frank (once the beams had already been erected), whilst he acknowledged there was an issue with his plans, he failed to take accountability and advised that structural engineers only provide a guideline. Whilst we expected Frank to outlay the cost for the adjustments to the beams as he was at fault and he acknowledged he was in the wrong, he only provided us a refund for his lack of service so we are still out of pocket for an issue that was due to his lack of understanding and incompetence. I would absolutely not recommend HCT Engineering.

Frank has been the easiest engineer to work with. He has delivered our stormwater design in a quick turn around and never had any issue with minor additional requests to assist us to achieve our council submission requirements. I would highly recommend HCT, they made the process easy and were a great team player in our project.

Frank is fantastic and he works tirelessly on my 10-studio project. His turn around time is lighting fast for the amount of work involved. We did the second soil test which saved us at least $20K on structural after we engaged Frank. I promise to take him out for a nice meal because the relentless certifier who made many changes along the way. I would not hesitate to engage him for my next project and would highly recommend his services to others.
