Dr Shammas - Female Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr Shammas is one of a kind. I have never had an experience like this and this was my third pregnancy. Dr Shammas was honest, trustworthy and most importantly understanding. She made me feel at ease from start, during and after birth. The relationship you build with Dr shammas is family and she knows exactly what you need and want. She is beyond expert in her field. We were blessed having this journey with you and we are thrilled our baby girl is here. Thank you Dr Shammas you are amazing.

Dr Shammas is the best of the best OB I should say in sydney. Very empathetic, friendly in nature and well experienced. I should mention you will get a motherly feeling with her. She helped me a lot during my pregnancy journey. During every consultation, Dr Shammas listened to all my concerns, suggested me what to expect and also how to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. I am so happy with my delivery and she well managed my emergency c-section.

Being a first time mum with a heart condition and only one fallopian tube, I needed to ensure i was in the best of care when it came to choosing a OB. After doing my own research and reading up on many talented Drs, i came across Dr Nasreen Shammas. Immediately after viewing her website and reading her bio and viewing her warm and inviting profile, something in me was drawn to her and i needed to meet her in person. After meeting with Dr Nasreen Shammas, i was so comfortable and relaxed that i felt that i had known her for years. i was greeted with a warm inviting smile, she made me feel so comfortable; felt like i have known her for years. At my consultation, we had an open thorough discussion about my underlining conditions and concerns, and how i really wanted a natural birth, no epidural and no c-section unless the baby or I were in danger. Dr Shammas had gained my trust with her knowledgeable responses, explaining her experiences of clients with similar conditions and how her pregnancy plan was designed for me, stating that baby is mine until you deliver, and i place him on you. Allowing me to be at ease with every step, to ensure that my baby and I are in good health and stress free throughout my pregnancy. January 25th 2023 at 5:30am my water broke, the rush of excitement had taken over. I had called Sydney South West Private at 9:00 am and advised to come in, as my contractions began at 30min apart. They notified Dr Shammas and she had come in and checked on me by 9:30am. By 3:00pm Dr Shammas was advised to come and deliver, as now i had dilated 8cm. Once she arrived I was ready to push, as i had now dilated 10cm and he was ready to come out. As i was pushing the babys heart rate had dropped dramatically and Dr Shammas was quick to take into action and reposition the babys arm for me to push with ease and ensuring the safety of delivery with no rips. Overall i will definitely be ensuring she is my OB for the rest of my life. I truley love and respect her, and she is amazing at what she does!

Sometimes you meet people and it feels as though you've known them for years, that's Dr Shammas's charm. She is the best of the BEST. Her level of care and communication is second to none, alongside her charismatic and bubbly personality, I would strongly recommend her services to everyone. I came to her for antenatal care for my third pregnancy and I can honestly say, the standard between her and my previous obstetrician was much greater. You would think because I have gone through pregnancy before that I wouldn't need much guidance, however I found that through every stage she thoroughly walked me through all the fine details, everything she was doing and everything I needed to know. Never have I felt more prepared for something that is quite difficult to prepare for. An example of this was my baby was in a posterior fetal position, she informed me of this and provided methods to try to get her to turn. In my first pregnancy, my son was born in the posterior fetal position and I was never told he was facing this way or ways I could have encouraged him to turn pre-labour. My labour time for this pregnancy was also only 2hrs and 10mins, everything escalated fast from my first contractions and although I was concerned Dr Shammas wasn't going to make it, surely enough there she was, reassuring me the entire time and delivered my healthy baby girl and made sure I was heard and taken care of. She saw me twice at the hospital post pregnancy and I have an appointment scheduled for 6 week check-up appointment from now (which was not the case with my previous obstetrician). If you are considering Dr Shammas for antenatal care, please go ahead, I assure you will be taken care of by the best! :)
