I suffered from achalasia for 3 years before my research led me to Professor Payal Saxena. I was unable to eat a meal or go out to dinner and was becoming very Ill with dehydration etc. I had many questions for Professor. Saxena and she patiently and honestly answered every query I had. I had her famous POEM surgery in February of this year, and within a week I was out to dinner and beginning to eat normally. I have had a very successful result with almost no side effects. It has been life changing for me and my whole family Professor Saxena is approachable, professional and of a very high standard. If you are considering this surgery, please dont hesitate .you will be in excellent hands with Professor Saxena.

Gold standard of endoscopy (colonoscopy and gastroscopy) at Chris OBrien Lifehouse. From the toasty warm blankets in the waiting bays, through to the upbeat, cheery nurses (Anne, Jana and Cameron) the procedure was not intimidating at all. A/Prof Saxena and her lovely Anesthetist Dr Mary Fung were exceptional and reassuring. A very well-oiled machine. The way medicine should be.

Dr Saxena quite literally changed my life. I have a rare auto immune disease, Achalasia, that affects my oesophagus and eating, and was referred to her by a gastroenterologist. She was incredibly professional, concise and clear in both her explanation of the condition and operating procedures. The whole process was extremely smooth and now post operation, thanks to her efforts and precision, my life is back to normal and I am eating again! I can't speak more highly of her and her team, and would highly recommend her to anyone with Achalasia that needs to be treated. Thank you so incredibly much for all you have done for me.
