I visited the store with my 14 year old nieces, who are visiting from the UK, yesterday and we were stopped by their security and the girls were asked to leave their backpacks outside. There are no lockers to secure bags and the girls could not take the chance of leaving their bags outside as they had expensive items in them. So I had to leave one of the girls outside to guard the bags while I went in with the other. I was not happy to leave this 14 year old girl on her own outside. I spoke to the manager on our exit to let her know that this was not ideal. She kept repeating that this was their policy, that backpacks were not allowed into their store or they would need to check bags on our way out. I said I had no problem with our bags being checked but we were not given that option. There was no apology from the manager. Very disappointed with our shopping experience! And not a very good impression of Australia as the girls were very upset with this treatment.
