UPDATE: The owner Jeff was extremely prompt to follow up on my feedback. He was professional and apologetic of the situation. We had a discussion about the issues and concerns we raised. I am impressed with the follow up and our interactions with Jeff. I am in agreement with other reviewers that Jeff is extremely understanding and professional and hope that the other staff will be as well. Thanks for making things right for us. Wishing you all the best with other customer dealings.Dodgy pricing. Appalling and disgusting customer service. When I first moved in to my apartment, we had a German cockroach infestation and called Sydney Side Pest Control because of the great reviews on google. Service was good then and subsequently we called them again even though they are more expensive than our local strata service that comes around twice a year with an optional opt in service for individual units. My main warning to all other house owners is the dodgy pricing and the appalling response when a customer disputes the pricing. 1) We were quoted and paid $150 for our first service which included a general service and a German cockroach treatment. 2) For some reason that I did not question in the past, our second service was $170, which I paid for, no questions asked.. the service was only a general service with no German cockroach. 3) Third service was a general service plus German cockroach treatment, which we were quoted $150 and paid for again, no questions. 4) For the fourth service, I received a courtesy call asking if I would like to have the same service done as previous year to which I agreed to book in at the earliest date available, with a reasonable expectation of same service-same/similar price. However, the night before my service, I receive an invoice saying my payment is overdue, followed by an apology text message to ignore it. I opened it anyway and was shocked that the quote is for $235, clearly stating it is for the same service I had received in the past. When I called back first thing in the morning to raise my concern, - First person I spoke to took my details down and said someone would call back. - Someone rang back and asked me what was the problem? I explained the situation and she just said I should have already agreed to the price and that was that. She insisted someone else would ring me back if I still had an issue with it. I was about to cancel the service if no one could be bothered to speak to me, but this lady just hung up on me. - I rang the office again and spoke to a third lady who again took down my details and said someone would ring back. - Received a missed call and voice mail saying to please give me a call back or .. answer my call - Pretty rude already even without speaking to me. - I returned the call to which she said they are trying to deal with the matter. A rather lengthy discussion was then had where the price went from $235 to $200 to $185 to $180. Their only reasoning being that they had given me a ridiculously good offer last year even though thats what Ive had for the past few years and that prices had gone up. I acknowledged that prices may increase overtime but $85 over one year is unjustified- thats a 57% price increase! I think its reasonable that I accepted the $20 price increase so I said I would be willing to pay $170. Apparently on the phone they could drop their prices so quickly but just could not accept my offer, started becoming rude and offensive. At this point, the person doing the service had arrived. I explained the situation to him and he rang the office to find out more. After speaking to the office, he came back with a final offer of $175. Long story short, they are great if you are willing to just accept whatever price they charge and have the service done with no questions asked but beware of such dodgy pricing and the disgusting response you will receive should you disagree with their pricing. I will add that the person I did meet who was supposed to carry out the service was professional and easy to talk to, thank you.
