I have been at this tutoring for a very long time and it has made my perspective towards learning change. I have met lots of friends from all over Sydney in my recent years here. It wasn't as fun at first but as soon as you make more friends and allow the teachers to bond with you, you will love this place. I will like to shoutout to all the amazing teachers.

I had an amazing time here. I have been doing it from year 3 to year 6 and I enjoyed my time there. I made a ton of friends and I genuinely think I would not have made it this far without STC. I see a lot of people complaining about things about it when those things are actually the parent's fault, not the tutoring centre's. I've seen a lot of people say that they give a lot of homework but most of the main class homework is done in class, trial test, revision and lovely class don't have homework and the holiday class homework is now minimal. There used to be 3 booklets but not only were they non-mandatory (unless your parents were strict) but they have also not shortened it to only 1 short booklet. The learning was helpful and they taught some complicated things that school wouldn't teach. In fact, I found myself learning some formulas at STC before I learnt them at school. The teachers aren't as bad as people say they are. Sure, there are a few ones that are intimidating or strict, but the majority are nice. Most of them are quality teachers who are good at explaining things and are fun. I feel like a lot of people complaining about mean teachers are generalizing based on one or two bad teachers they may have had. STC is not all work no play because you get breaks in between every session which allow you to talk to friends or have a snack. Furthermore, if your parents don't overwork you, you won't have to do any work when you get home. Some people are saying that the schedule is "school, tutor, homework, sleep" but that isn't STC's fault, it's your parent's fault for overworking you. It's not like STC is coercing your parents to make you do an additional 5 hours of homework when you get back home. Something to note before going to STC is that they mainly focus on mathematics and thinking skills and less on writing and english. I don't think this is a bad thing and parents shouldn't be deterred by this but if you are looking for a tutoring centre that focuses on english and writing, STC may not be the best option. However, you must also note that there are still amazing english and writing teachers that definitely helped me with my learning. I have also noted that a lot of people are just telling straight up lies about STC, which may be deterring parents from sending their children here. So I'm just going to point out the flaws in some of these statements. STC does provide explanations and solutions for the questions. Examples are Lovely Class, where they review Main Class questions and half the Trial Test time is explanation. STC does not have overcrowded classrooms. There are around 20 students in each class, compared to the regular 30 in schools. Why are you complaining about a class of 20? Do you wish for there to be a class of 2? STC doesn't teach the same things at school. I found out during my time there that a lot of the stuff I learnt at STC was completely new as my school had not introduced it to me yet. Though I can't say this is the same for everyone, I believe most people will find that STC doesn't just teach the same things as school. STC doesn't overhelp the child. I find it nonsense that a lot of these comments contradict each other. First you argue that there is too much homework. But if there is no homework, the child won't be independent and just zone off in class instead of actually absorbing the material. Yes the classrooms may have graffiti on the walls and yes there may be gum underneath the desks but that is common across hundreds of other schools, why must STC be the only place getting criticism because of it? It's inevitable and I think people shouldn't be petty and complain about it. In general, I do believe STC is an amazing tutoring centre. Many parents may be hesitant to send their children here because of the amount of bad reviews but I assure you that going to STC will be a correct decision if you want your children to not only make friends but also learn things that they may not learn otherwise.

Over crowded class so the teacher wont pay attention to every student. The teacher have no idea whether student have following or not.

Ive been going there since year 3, Im currently in Year 7, although it helped me get into a selective school it wasnt the best. Holiday class had 3 booklets and trial tests were hell, 3 hours stuck in a stuffy room doing tests in silence. The rooms were graffitied and the desks had gum under them all the time. Most teachers are decent except for the few who have no care whatsoever or the wellbeing of the children and continuously shout and scold children. I also had this one teacher who told us the wrong answer and we kept trying to tell them it was right but the teacher didnt listen and sent a few of us outside for the rest of the lesson which really is unfair and a waste of our parents money.
