*WARNING* these stairs are not for the faint of heart. Close to 300 steps taking you from the valley floor to the top of the ridge in less than 200 metres lateral distance, they are a challenge even for the fit. Originally a depression-era project, they had fallen into some disrepair but credit to Hornsby Council they were rejuvenated 7 or 8 years ago. There is also a small interpretative trail on the way covering some of the local history.

There is a tiny cave at top of steps for shelter from the rain. The whole street has no street lights, neither do the steps so bring a headlamp if u go hiking at night. Otherwise, It is pitch black
