To me he was not helpful and waist of time going there and waist of money going to see him not a good doctor to go and see, he didn't give any answers that i needed from him so please go and other doctors that are helpful.

Dr Angela Fu has been my Rheumatologist since 2010. She has been nothing but caring and concerned for my health. I don't plan to see any other in her field, she is fantastic.

The first visit was ok but the second visit was a storm of verbally and emotionally assault the moment I walked into her room., Utterly unprovoked personal abuse by a specialist through choice of language, tones and body language. Her manner and language were so dismissive and abusive that I didnt even get a chance to show her my MRI report. I left in tears. When I arrived in in the clinic on time, I was told she was running late and I can choose to cancel the appointment. I chose to wait. When she called another patient in, I noticed she had no eye contact with the patient. When I was called, again, there was no eye contact from her. Upon entering her room, she sat on her chair and waiting for me to open the dialogue, which made me feel a bit uneasy. Me: I started to feel pain on this finger since last visit, the finger looks different and there is probably some inflammation. Dr Fu: Probably? staring at me. After physical examination of the pain of my finger, I said I googled for the disease and felt my other new symptoms of fleeting pain are like those of RA. Dr Fu: I am not surprised you googled, you look like an anxious person. I was shocked and felt judged but need to continue the consult. Me: I took a note of the fleeting sensations since 7pm last night just to give you a snapshot what they are like. Dr Fu: We are not going to make some long term plan for something just happened since 7pm last night. Me: I took the note 7pm last night but the pain has been going on for 5 weeks. Dr Fu: (rolling her eyes) coming back to what I want to say... the pain on tip of your finger, at your age, you are going to get osteoarthritis, nothing is going to prevent that. I was thinking how do you know that is OA though without any imaging? Dr Fu continued on her arthritis education 101, which I already had in first visit, for another 12 minutes or so and ignored I want to speak about my new symptoms. Every time I managed to get in a word, she stared at me then rolled her eyes and turned to my partner to continue her 101, which is not relevant to my questions. When Dr Fu finished her 101 and many motherhood statements. Me: I came here for insights on my pain, especially around my neck. Dr Fu: I really can't give you more than what I already said( Does she mean the 101?). Sometimes it could be posture related, could be muscular. I got pain here all the time. How dismissive! Me: I'm here really wanting to know if all these fleeting pains could be symptoms of RA? Dr Fu: hmm, some patients do have these sorts of pain. Thats it for today, if the situation change, you could come back earlier I was thinking if my new symptoms fall into the RA symptoms category, who do you need to constantly deflect and say these could be caused by other causes. I am not looking for final diagnosis but I am just doing what you have told me to do and still tell me to do: Come back if you have new symptoms. Dr Fu: There is really no need to google anymore online, just exercise. There are lots of information online, sometimes I googled online to look up treatments! I am thinking of course google is your privilege. Me: I feel I am dismissed. Dr Fu: you are welcome to see another Rheumatologist, I am certainly not the best rheumatologist in town. Me: how about just give your patient to chance to speak and listen to them? My MRI report was still in my bag. At this time I can't even bring myself to speak to her since she was already showing me the door. I just don't understand why she suggested me see another rheumatologist while she doesn't even give me a chance to speak. This consultation costed $200 dollars and she didn't even have the decency to listen or acknowledge the symptoms I was having. Throughout the consultation, she either talked over me ignoring my intention to speak or when I managed to get in a sentence to tell her my symptoms, she rolled her eyes and then set her eyes on my partner to ignore me. I left in tears. This is my experience on the 27th November 2020. hopefully no other patients have to endure this.
