I am a physician. Dr John Beattie is a consultant physician of rare excellence. As a colleague but not someone I know personally, I have seen his work. The modern era of medicine is unlikely to produce consultant generalists of his skill. He is outstanding.

My frail mother had been in a living hell with the sudden onset of acute pain for 5 months. Multiple hospital visits, multiple specialists and still no diagnosis. Within 10 minutes of examining her he had a hypothesis for her condition. He arranged the appropriate tests and sure enough we finally had a diagnosis. My mum is not "out of the woods" yet as she is awaiting surgery but there is "light at the end of the tunnel" as they say and there are no words to adequately convey the gratitude my mother (and myself) have for his efforts. It will be a huge loss to the medical proffesion the day he retires. Thank you Dr Beattie, you are a genuine legend.

Dr Beattie is one of the Best Dr's I have known he is thorough and his surgery staff are by far the best in NSW
