This review is posted as a caution to consumers. It relates to a kitchen which we purchased from Leonie Dwyer of Louis Divine in October 2020. We were subsequently informed by Leonie Dwyer that she had subcontracted the manufacture and installation of the kitchen to Malcolm St James. Our advice would be to take care when dealing with either of these organisations. Very soon after installation in January 2021 it became apparent that the kitchen was of very poor quality and appeared not to be solid timber as sold to us by Leonie Dwyer. We made multiple attempts to get Leonie Dwyer and Rick Kain of Malcolm St James to take our concerns seriously. We were ignored, fobbed off and told we were being unreasonable. After 6 months without progress, we brought proceedings in the NSW Home Building Tribunal against Leonie Dwyers corporate entity as the Builder under the Home Building Act. The Tribunal decided The kitchen is so defective that it must be removed and replaced The work was not carried out with due care and skill The kitchen is NOT solid timber We be awarded the amount of $84,340 to cover the costs of removal and replacement of the kitchen The case decision reference is 909355 at NCAT We recently contacted Rick Kain again encouraging him to take some responsibility for the kitchen as Leonie Dwyers subcontractor. He asked us not to contact him again. We are hopeful that Leonie Dwyer and Rick Kain are mindful of their reputation and take responsibility to put this situation right. We will keep you informed. Polly and Mike Harding UPDATE: On 9th June 2022 , Horticultural Holdings Pty Limited (Leonie Dwyers corporate entity) paid the judgment debt . We are glad that the situation has now been resolved and we look forward to payment of the costs which are due on 30 July 2022, under a separate court order.

Rick is a very personable character who spends plenty of time with you up front to determine what your requirements are and will recommend a Lacanche cooker, quite correctly - they are great cookers! He will also stick to schedule on getting cabinetry constructed, and the cabinets do look great! Unfortunately, the quality of construction and installation leave a lot to be desired - hanging wall cabinets are not fitted in a straight line, soft-close drawers become stuck and no longer close on their own, panel pins are used to attach wooden frontage to integrated fridge/freezers with the inevitable result that they eventually come apart, plastic fittings used for magnetic closing of cupboards fall apart with use, and power points are fitted so close to the bench-top that you cannot plug appliances into them, at worst the power points are not attached to anything solid and come away from the plasterboard. Worst of all, the after-sales service is pretty much non-existent - one assumes that they just hope these problems will go away if ignored.

having known this business now for three years I am well acquainted with the owner and what he can do for your kitchen , his can do attitude should be the foundation of every business, If you need a top quality stove that works miracles , this is the person to see , if you require those hard to get door knobs and tap handles this is the shop to go to, This shop is the number one antique bathroom and stove shop in Drummoyne and will look after all your bathroom and kitchen needs , and if you are really nice and ask about his tennis scores I am sure he will move on prices
