Rydges Campbelltown

We attended a high tea function at Rydges last Sunday. The venue is nice, it has a cosy and comfortable feel to it and is attractive too. The cocktails that were advertised as being available on arrival were not ready and there was a line backed up of people waiting for their cocktails. Unfortunately, the service was lacking and the food also took a very long time to be served. The sweets were pretty but the mozzarella sticks, pies and toasted croissants were cold when placed on the trays on our table. Tea and coffee orders were taken before food was served yet the hot drinks arrived 1.30 hours later. When I approached the Manager to advise of my dissatisfaction he was not open to hearing my concerns and when I mentioned that I had already waited 1.5 hours for a cup of tea and still hadnt gotten one; the Managers response was we only have one machine which was not a good enough or professional enough response from a manager catering for a 150 person high tea event. Unfortunately the lateness of the food arriving, the food being cold, hot drinks not arriving when food arrived to accompany the food and then the lack of professionalism of the manager greatly impacted this event for me and also others at the same table. It was sad that this was the service provided for a not for profit volunteer organisation aiming to raise funds for a great cause.

Nice place to stay and you can get some great deals becoming a member. Nice and close to the Catholic club so great for a night out when nobody needs to play designated driver. Have stayed about 6 times, never had a bad experience, the buffet breakfast is not cheap, but varied and tasty. The only issue I have is that I cannot connect my laptop to the TV via HDMI and watch my streaming services, have to watch the free to air rubbish, otherwise I'd give it a 5.
