        This smaller carpark , is on the downhill split road section , from Cape Byron Lighthouse The also metered carpark , is around half way , from the top of Cape Byron There are closer carparks to the top of this tourist attraction landscape

        Since there isn't much recent photos and information here for this particular carpark, I thought I'd share what I saw and understood for parking here. Yes, there is another parking lot if you keep going up towards the lighthouse (before the gate) but the same fee and rules apply as this one so don't think this one would be cheaper because it's farther away from the lighthouse. It's still $4/hr from 6am. Worth noting, we arrived at the car park 5.45am to see the sunrise at 6:03am from the lighthouse. The ticket machine screen was blacked out but screen was back on when we checked again after 6am.
