Dan you would have to be the most rudest I have ever spoken to in my whole 30+ years of life. Atleast pretend to be nice. I now realised I called the wrong place, however it doesnt cost you anything to be a nice person. If you represent a business with your mannerisms I would HATE to see how terrible your hotel would be. With you behind the business Im surprised it is still in operation LOL

Our apartment was nice but the manager Dan is probably the unfriendliest human being I've ever come across. After asking simple check in questions or enquiring after luggage storage before our flight he simply hung up on me twice. A customer service role is not suitable for this person. Btw the reception itself is never open therefore calling Dan is unavoidable as well as being hung up on.. I am aware we booked Villa 21 through a 3rd party platform but the displayed address as well as the sign outside the villa display the details of the crest. If someone else manages the property then different signage should be placed. Apparently this is poorly organised but should be changed with the owner of the property and not be the problem of a guest. Nowadays it shouldn't be an issue to explain in a friendly manner how the confusing management of the property works rather than hanging up the phone twice. Grow up, Dan.

Overall we had a great stay in our self contained ground floor Villa, but could use some TLC for the price paid. I get they are going for the tropical feel, but the gardens in our back patio, walkways and entrance were a bit overgrown and could use a trim. We had to constantly knock down spiders and webs just to leave/enter our villa. The rooms definitely need blackout blinds, unless youre a morning person youll need to get creative and make your own with a blanket like we did. The first night our 5 year old woke up at 5:30am so we had to take desperate measures :P. Regardless, we would probably stay here again as it is a great location and a close 5-10 walk into town and the beach. The pool area is really nice and kept clean.

DAN, the owner and manager of Crest is an abhorrently rude human being. Ive never been spoken to with such disrespect in all my life. He should not be representing this business. If you stay here I recommend booking through Byron Beachside Accommodation. They own/manage the apartment we stayed at. They are professional, friendly and hospitable and will take care of you. They are not affiliated with Dan. Warning- do not contact The Crest reception/office directly unless you want to be dismissed, sworn at and hung up on.

Be very wary of Dan the owner/manager. We paid for 4 nights at the Crest which is a 4+ Star according to google, I called the day before arrival to check everything was good with the booking since the flood, which he assured me it was. When we arrived Dan said that he had given our room to Red Cross and was upgrading us to a better, beach front complex. He took us a short walk down the Street to Mariner Bay and proceeded to check us into a 3* apartment that was nowhere near as nice as the one we had booked and paid for online! I plucked up the courage to call him 15 minutes after checking to tell him tell him that it wasnt an upgrade we didnt like the apartment and We wanted to stay at the Crest where we had originally booked, to be told that was not possible and he proceeded to assure me the apartment he had put us in was far superior. After persisting, he finally called me back and told me he had forgot that the Red Cross people had never arrived and he could move us to the Crest. We then had to pack up all our belongings and wasted the first 3 hours of our holiday. However the Crest was a lovely apartment so it was worth the move! Much nicer than mariner bay. And other than being lied to and messed around by Dan the rest of our stay was nice.
