Byron is such a great place to visit still and chill, or not. 70 years ago main beach went a few Hundred metres further out eastward, then sand mining started and there went the beach after each big storm, which is why the big boulders Nature. Tallow looks good, or a walk in a northerly direction passes time.

Long popular beach We visited Byron Bay during ANZAC weekend. The beach is adjacent to the town centre, very nice and extremely popular. Even at 10.30 am, it was extremely difficult to find a place to park the car. But once this was done, the beach itself is superb. There is something for everyone- surfers, swimmers, walkers or those who were there to simply relax. The water was still quite warm and the sweeping views delightful.
