Sydney Spine Institute

This review is for Dr Kahn. I saw him at his Blacktown offices. He's an amazing advocate for injured workers. He listens and asks 1000 questions and makes and accurate report. Im so glad I got to see him. I haven't smiled in a long time but by the end of my appointment I had a huge grin just knowing the support I had from him after the pressure from Insurance making my life miserable

I was referred to Prof. Van Gelder from my doctor (after her own personal positive experience), to discuss my very common (yet painful) disc herniation. The staff were nothing but friendly and accomodating throughout the whole process. Prof. Van Gelder is highly knowledgable about all things spine/neuro related and I was able to have a very frank discussion about my options, after which I opted for surgery. On my first visit I met also with Dr Mylordi who kindly talked me through the full procedure/ expected costs, and I was delighted to be able to secure a spot relatively quickly for my surgery. Both Dr Mylordi and Prof. Van Gelder were wonderful on my surgery day and I felt very looked after by the whole team. The outcome has been great. I'm also working with Dr. Anderson for Physio. And for anyone who's been passed around (and spent a fortune) on the physio scene will know how hard it is to find someone good who really understands. So it's a relief to work with Dr Anderson who is directly linked to my surgeon, and who understands my needs and can direct based off of evidence and my surgery results. Highly recommend the Sydney Spine institute and the three professionals mentioned above along with the lovely team of staff on the front desk. I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again in future if needed.

This is by far the best service I have recieved by any medical professional. They are incredibly knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anyone of my family or friends.

When I was diagnosed with stenosis of the lumbar spine 3 years ago, my Chiropractor recommended I see Prof Van Gelder. His consulting rooms are at The Spine Institute Burwood. I saw Dr Mylordi and then Prof Van Gelder, who advised that I try physiotherapy. David, the physio, at T.S.I. taught me exercises that are effective, so that now I can manage the occasional lumbar discomfort well. But my recent concern was more problematic. Gradually over the last 18 months my walking had become clumsy and difficult. Simple tasks were hard to do because of weakness in my arm and numbness in my fingers, feeling as if everything was gradually slipping away from me. Professor Van Gelder performed surgery on my cervical spine and it has resulted in the very best of outcomes. Now, after only 3 months I am able to do almost everything I did before and I find it very difficult to express my gratitude to him adequately, for all the effort and expertise that went into setting things right for me. I have visited The Spine Institute many times, in my experience the staff are efficient and helpful, they are always welcoming and friendly.
