I tried the rest, you name it Physio, chiro, acupuncture nothing seemed to alleviate pain when playing sports (mainly soccer) as a 50 year old but Ben and the Train away team were different. What Train away your pain? I was curious and took me a few years to get my head around it and what a difference a year or so makes. from the offset Train away your PAIN (TAYP) approached things differently, they asked a lot of questions and devised strength work plus recovery practices. My problem was knee pain and various niggles and it meant pain all week after soccer and limited ability to play, sometimes I couldnt stay on the field for more than 15 minutes. after working with Ben for a while, the body got stronger and recovery was quicker, suddenly I could play a whole game and feel better during the week (and score goals plus make the grand final too). The approach is also different as in my case we spent a lot of time talking and breaking old habits and adopting new ones to promote a stronger body and recovery work. I can't recommend these guys enough, I was at the end of the line ready to give up soccer like most people do when they are older and spent lots of time & money on stop gaps measures but with patience, understanding, knowledge and from Ben at TAYP plus putting in the work I have tools for life to stay active. so instead of living in pain, making excuses and staying away from activities, thanks to TAYP I did just that trained away the pain.

My chronic knee problem has improved since going to TAYP. The combination of strength and movement done in a technically correct way has meant that I am able to do long walks with much less pain- and it is improving all the time. I have also benefited from other exercises working on the whole body and I have learned a lot. I enjoy the sessions. I would highly recommend TAYP.

I have been experiencing neck/back pain primarily due to bad posture and shoulder pain from workouts. Ben from train away your pain understands the human body very well and was able to explain the causes of my sufferings. The approach taken was very different from other physios/chiros I have gone to i.e. more preventive than reactive maintenance. Ben also focuses on trainings that aim to protect your body from injuries on a day-to-day basis e.g. how to lift things properly. It takes time and practice to train my body to maximise its potential. Whilst my problem is still being solved, coaching has definitely helped raise my awareness of things I can improve on and hopefully prevent more pains before I grow any older.

Train away has been a huge plus in my life. Suffering with MS has turned me upside down. I used to go walking every day with the wife for 7 kilometres and I could go fishing anywhere I wanted. Once the disease took hold I stopped walking and fishing and the every day things like getting up off the floor were getting harder to do. Allan came along and showed me a new approach to my life and the way I do simple tasks like walking and getting up off the floor. I couldnt walk further than 700 meters when my fatigue would stop me in my tracks. After about a year of learning new ways to do things and specific training methods I can return to doing some of the things I love. Now I can go fishing, travelling and walking further than 700 meters. I know I wont be able to do the things used to do but being able to achieve more than what I did two years ago is awesome. My best walk to date is 2.4 kilometres but I was spent physically. Allan has given me a new approach to living and I thank him for it. I recommend you give him a try, l did and I havent looked back.
