I had LASIK eye surgery done by Dr Daya Sharma. Having been a life long contact lense wearer, it has been life changing and such a great investment for my well being. Dr Daya Sharma is calm, kind and patient. He guided me through the process with ease and answered any questions I had about such a scary procedure. I couldn't recommend highly enough. I also had a separate unrelated consultation earlier on in 2022 with Dr Shanel Sharma who was also very kind and informative. Also, all of the staff at the Bondi Junction Practice are friendly and helpful. Overall I am a very happy customer and I haven't stopped speaking to my friends about how happy I have been with the process and outcome. Thank you :)

Dr Shanel Sharmas diagnosis and subsequent treatment has largely increased my medium & long sight allowing me to drive comfortably and safely. I cannot say enough about the wonderful care and support offered me by all the staff at her practise.

I advise being sceptical and getting a second opinion. Our experience was this: my daughter has a slight turn in one eye that was picked up by an optometrist. We came to Eye and Laser and had extensive testing. After a long period with a lot of waiting, the doctor told me that she had a definite turn and advised glasses as a therapeutic intervention and six week check ups which the doctor said were necessary. I got the impression that surgery was a probable outcome, though in fairness this was not directly stated. Overall, the impression I got was that my daughter's condition was quite serious and required heavy intervention and regular appointments. My gut made me uncomfortable as the optometrist had been much more moderate and it seemed that the doctor went from 0-100 in a very short amount of time. I left feeling bamboozled and worried, with a prescription and a six week check up booked. We ended up researching another Ophthalmologist and booking our daughter in to get a second opinion. I'm very relieved because the second opinion was that 1) The turn in my daughter's eye was so slight as to be insignificant 2) Testing revealed that her brain had already made really good adjustments to the slight asymmetry and therefore intervention is not necessary at this point and 3) Glasses might interfere with the natural process of adjustment. We've got a six month (not six week) follow up with the second Ophthalmologist. I am hesitant about undermining confidence in a doctor who has clearly helped others as per the reviews. However, I'm posting this in case it helps others and encourages anyone who is unsure to get a second opinion before committing to expensive and intensive intervention.
